What you're ignoring is that the flu numbers are ALSO handled the same way. Asymptomatic cases are largely unknown. Which, again, levels the playing field when comparing CFR.

660,000 kits aren't back yet. That's an easy 100,000 more cases, even with a mild positive...

So funny, because the 4 days of declining growth before yesterday... people were chalking that up to "they stopped testing". And now the increase in numbers is BECAUSE they're testing.
