Activity: 0% Longevity: 81% | | DHL.... Having trouble..
Basicaly, i have a package that was clearancee delay. I called up yesterday afternoon. I was told at 10:30 AM customs cleared the package and all holds were removed. Item should be delivered on the 9th by 8pm...
Well, so i track it all night and morning today... NO UPDATES. MEANING NO SCANS still same clearance delay. So i call them up, they researched some more, and they insist it definitely has been cleared.... (they have more information tracking than is on the website). One tells me, the specialist is calling cinci to find out why the package hasn't been loaded and shipped onward, the other is starting a trace. They say, ok it will be delivered by 8pm tomorrow. So i track it until about 20 mins ago, no updates.... I call and i am told the team working on my package have gone home for the night. And to leave a voice mail.
WTF/ Customs cleared it, what the hell are they doing with my package?/

I have the same situation. A shipment landed in Cincy at 01:20 on Tuesday and within minutes went to clearance delay. That's the last tracking entry. DHL says they may be backed up from the long weekend when nobody worked. Now the last entry is three days old. Geez! The last time I had one delayed that long, it ended up being seized. I do suspect that DHL tracking is messed up, because the plane that left HK on Saturday didn't make it to Cincy for two days. Very unusual for a plane to be in the air 48 hours.

Couple of things come to mind:
package more than likely not released.
inaccurate data entry gives false report. What is 'there' is suggestive of release. Not unlike paypal, agents will say whatever is easiest for them to get the unhappy receiver off the phone. (Kinda worked? )
On the dawn, contact again. Ask for supervisor/manager & get them to find the package. Or they might tell you the facts (based on upgrading overnight). Could be good, could be an oops moment.
Start packing. move home & keep looking over your shoulder.

That is why I have begun using EMS again. I order in much smaller quantities going to multiple addresses. Using free shipping via DHL for big packages over 21 kgs has gotten too risky for me putting most/all eggs in one basket. I had two consecutive orders going to different addresses seized and went almost nine weeks without any goods to sell. The absolute worst two months selling. Not worth it at all.

Was your DHL's to different address? I changed address on the 2nd order to a relatives house in another city. I have to drive 50 miles to pick up the order ><
At least it gives me a reason to see my family, right? 1 ems has been seized last week, and this week 1 dhl seized. In that time frame 3 other smaller EMS arrived safely. My dhl's aren't like 5 box orders or anything, just standard medium sized box, i'm having such hardluck now, i hope my new order passes customs this weekend. If it doesn't, i may as well count negative feedbacks all week.

When you make the decision to buy this stuff, there is always a chance that it will be seized by customs. When dealing in counterfeits, that is a risk you take. DHL is not at fault.
You can use EMS, TNT, UPS, FEDEX or whatever - there is ALWAYS a risk that your package may be inspected. If it is, and it contains anything illegal, it will most likely be seized.
Having said that, working with a supplier who knows the ropes can LESSEN the chances of a seziure, but nothing can eliminate it.

What happens if they see a letter from Customs stating that the goods were illegal and they were seized? To someone who knows nothing about this, those are some SCARY letters!
Even using your own name at their address is not a good thing to do. You never know what might happen. Sure, it is very uinlikely they would ever get a visit from the police or the FBI, but why take the chance?
Get yourself into whatever situations you want, but don't drag some poor innocent person into your mess. Instead, just get a UPS store box.
Just my opinion...

That's not a problem for me, my relationship with my family goes far deeper than most. The address is irrelevant, except for the drive to get it, as for the dhl box, that's all fine.Except you cant use another name for packages. It has to be a name that's on the box, and you must show 2 forms of id to even get that.

With in case of sh hit the fan will still trace customs to your home? | UPS store boxes ARE traceable. Any time you open a private mailbox you need to fill out the US Postal Service form and provide an ID and proof of current address. Supplying false information to the US SPostal Service is illegal.
And, YES, if the FBI (or another branch of law enforcement) were to investigate, they could easily get that information.
You CAN be invisible to PayPal and eBay and almost any other private company. But there is no such thing as being invisible to law enforcement. They can get information that private companies cannot.
The bottom line is, there is no legal and safe way to import counterfeit or otherwise illegal goods into the US. If that is the merchandise you are dealing in, those are the risks you take.
