Postage fee

Today I came home to see a usps notice on my door stating they were unable to deliver package (due to no one being home) but on the bottom part under "postage due" it shows $108.47. Anyone know why I owe this amount? did the sender not pay for shipping?

was the package sent from over seas . it could be receipt to customs fees on package .

yes overseas. but on the note usps left there are 3 options "postage due" "COD" and "Customs" and they circled "postage due"

Just ask your mialperson why the amount is owed. Those forms are generic and tell you nothing, but they should know. The amount of money in question is too much to pay without knowing WHY it is due.

But it sounds to me like Customs assessed some sort of an import duty on your items. This has happened to me before.

Overseas would VERY likely be custom duties since COD is RARELY available overseas.
