Parcelforce repeated delays with goods
 

Hi

ooops...... just put this post in wholesale didn't realise there was a shipping thread!!!

I was wondering if anyone could help.

I purchased 1 vero item for personal use. It arrive in the UK on the 4th but has been showing as awaiting customs clearance ever since and I am worried something has happened to the parcel.

I have called Parcelforce twice and received two different answers. One said there was a backlog and it would be processed soon then information would be updated on my tracking info. The other adviser asked me what was in the parcel then told me all items from China were being stopped and counterfeit items seized, they would then eventually be updated to show this on the tracking info.

This has made me a bit worried......... but surely if it says awaiting customs clearance it hasn't been dealt with? Has anyone had any experience? I have found lots of posts on the net about the subject but no one mentions how it ends?

im in the same boat as you, one of my packages is stuck in customs for 5 days too!

give parcelforce a call,they will be able to tell you whats what

does it say handed to customs?

i had 3 packages sent through earlier without any probs. its just this package thats stuck there.

wow,normally its on the way after received and processed

tell them the tracking number and ask why it is taking so long

also,if you do not mind,please pm me with which type of items are in the package

parcelforce tracking is playing up too! for some reason i cannot track my EMS packages through parcelforce website and only through the wierd EMS website (one where you have to input verification code).

i also have a package stuck in customs for 5 days, but i am not going to worry yet as i have had them in there up to 7 days and clear before, really hope it doesn't get seized as it is such a ball ache!

i emailed them and they stated that the package was still with uk border agency awaiting customs clearence, even though it says its already been recieved and processed.

what happens when it gets seized?

u get a letter from HMRC saying it has been seized, they usually take a week or two to come, do not reply to the letter. i have only ever had two... also never use that address again as it will be blacklisted!

blacklisted, even for legitamate items?

if it gets seized it should say handed to customs

but nothing is set in stone so expect the worst and then anything better will be a bonus

im guessing what with xmas around the corner cutoms are clamping down! i hope this package gets through though.

is there any work around to the blacklisting of the address to import vero?

i read somewhere there were mail forwarding addresses people were using to import.

just ask family or friends to use there address but use a false name

can anyone confirm if addresses do get blacklisted?

wont be able to do that...ive just tracked it on the ems website and it says --

so it could be on its way now, i think its just the parcelforce website taking time to update itself?

handed to customs on the parcelforce website means it has been seized in my experience

what was in the parcel?

what is the status of the parcel?

does it say in progress?

does it say held?

seized?

I have had parcelforce hold items in customs fro over 7 days and was told because of backlog and that they only process parcels on certain days of the week.

Parcelforce usually state ' awaiting customs clearance' until its released and then it will state ' charges need to be paid' which is when you have to call them and pay the customs before they will release it to you.

Also when there are charges to be paid, they send out an invoice to your address and it shows you were to go on there site to pay for the charges.

This usually happens to me on a weekly basis.

Parcelforce charge £8 on top of the custom charges as well for handling :(

check the status where it normally says advised or in progress and if it says delivered its gone:(

they have been seized, i would be very surprised if they come back on n a few days and say they received their parcles, i hope they do like but.............

Looks like there parcels entered the country, then left customs and went to the international hub, then was returned back to customs.... looks wierd, i wonder what they were importing...

yeah that happened before to me, i think it says forwarded for uk processing even if it has already been sized by customs

What is in the parcel that makes you think there might be a problem?

parcels can often be delayed to be released.

I would be patient and avoid contacting customs.

Been many reports of delays with incoming items being handled by parcelforce over the past 13 days.:juggle:

I buy my parcels from the USA...So it says accepted in Miami (I assume)
Thats also why im up till like 4am on this site LOL...

@Bunneh, Miami is not mentioned. It mentions the state of Michigan. Ann Arbor is in that state.


FOUR users in one thread all impatient because a few parcels are delayed in getting to them.

Customs is always generally slow, I think these buyers assume they are the only people in there country with a parcel stuck in customs so it should be released the same day :doh:

if it has been seized you will know as it will say handed to customs and the status will be delivered!

A parcel can even be stated as 'Released' on Parcelforce tracking but may actually have been seized. The best way to find out the progress is to keep phoning Parcelforce, each day etc, if you suspect a delay/seizure. Get an answer off them over the phone. Quicker and easier.

But sometimes it is useless to keep calling the shipping company ,as they will say they have nothing to do with your package and they will tell you to contact the custom directly and throw you away .

Sometimes different shipping company staff even will give you different answer.

Consider the risk to be seized before you import the goods.Of cource if the profit is much bigger than seized rate,you may go ahead to conutiue more packages

Just thought I would update as it may be of use to someone but my package was seized- I didn't think there would be a problem as it was a small single item! Guess I was wrong! I have heard there are major crackdowns happening with UK customs? Has anyone else heard this?
