ive got another awaiting clearance since tuesday only usually takes a day or two , they still running very slow or what? nightmare they are, first package from the 18th of may still not moved either !

It's doing my nut in checking everyday

Am hoping moves on 12th either one of them both got different movements

Ordered one few weeks back was through in 3to4 days

i rang parcel force and customs in coventry, thay said all EMS parcels between May 1st - May 14th are beiong checked and any item after that will be a random but may have a delay due to the back log... i have since started using DHL (iv had to make bigger orders from my supplyer to get the posting free) but every parcel since has sailed strate thru...

i think there will be alot of EMS delays untill the olympics are over :pout:

Thats my second parcel through but my first is still the same received and processed ' In progress ' :)

also i didnt post it in my name or my address just incase the first one had been stopped but ive recieved no letter telling me its seized yet so fingers crossed

Hi I spoke to pf they said customs are 15 days behind said I shud have movement all being well on first parcel tomorrow or the next day and one that was handed to customs on 1/6/12 shud have movement on 15th or 16th

Not so much as a re-order my suppplier sent me out the same thing but only a fraction of my order is garuntee'd , but yes was the same thing , sent to a different address and name , i havent received any from may though , parcelforce said theres still delays and the guy above said theres still delays also, if its seized would of had a letter through already so im hoping they get there act together and get me my first parcel that cost me 1500gbp lol

You have to submit a seizure letter in order to get your items reshipped or your money back?

My supplier said he will re ship too but is tellingme to await bit longer it don't help wen your in neeeeD haha thanks for ur reply's ant

They only shipped what was garuntee'd which was a quarter of my order, just arrived today everything intact not tampered or the box even opened in anyway , but wasnt in my name or my address , just being cautious ( if thats how its spelt haha ) , no seizure letter has of yet so if it comes that is a bonus :)

Now mate glad u getting summit mine won't resend till after Olympics he saying gonna lose a lot with all this going on had no movement on mine at all

Hi Powerjam , sorry for not replying back . I never had the " Awaiting customs clearance" twice in the one EMS order until today . I think it is because the EMS parcel is about 8-10KG in weight . Here is a copy and paste of my Tracking details :

Aargh ! Does anyone know if you have to pay the charge do you need to pay this first or can you pay on delivery just like DHL ?

doing my head in with this Olympic ****, parcels getting delayed all over the shop, If my parcels are seized will i get some kind of letter saying this?

Yeah you should get letter but don't reply to it unless you know it's allowed what you have ordered

And can't be backlog at customs as in all other parcels coming through we must be unlucky once that getting them stopped

once it's at your local depot - you can phone to pay for the charges - this will speed up the delivery by a few days.

How you know we're seized you get letter or did it say on Pf site

No movement still nothing on site about customs having backlog and royal mail is only on about delays due to Olympic torch and bad rain which is not going to cause more than couple days issues

hey if your parcel gets seized you will get a letter my parcel got seized and i got a letter saying that they seized my parcel cus of vero items they said 2 sign the letter and send it back i have not signed it if you sign it and send it back you are agreeing that the parcel is yours and you are bringing vero items in 2 uk also if you sign it any parcel coming 2 that address will be checked i did a small vero order on another blag name 2 see if my address is blacklisted will keep you updated if it come

I'm having the same problem, mine got posted on 2nd june from china and on the 13th it got processed and cleared but when my tracking said that on a previous order i didnt get it til another 3 weeks...i thought it had been seized but it suprisingly turned up.

Can anyone tell me...i want to order something from china but am thinking to do it by parcel force? Will this guarantee my delivery or do customs open the items like they do with parcels by ems? I am probably wrong but i was under the impression that if you pay for delivery by parcelforce/ups type company then customs let them through and quite quickly. Anyone know?

i would also be interested in this, but im thinking ems handles the china side and parcelforce handles the package when it land here after the customs have had there play with it lol, so basically all the same issues arise again, my best bet is to let this Olympic **** blow over then bang it for all its worth lol

just placed another order on thursday just wait see what happens

Got a $29 package thats coming in from HK via EMS stopped at customs and so far the following status. ( Its items that can be purchased in UK but much much cheaper abroad so xxpecting now to get a total rip off Britian charge, seems as though we are being hit hard at the moment to disuade us buying anything from overseas, as not had trouble in the past )

So you ordered somthing from china worth £18 and you get been charged inport tax:confused:

Can anyone here help. My parcel coming from China I had declared the correct value which is fine. On the ParcelForce website it is saying "Revised charges to be paid" has anyone had this issue before? I then called ParcelForce to ask what the charges would add upto and they said £179.73 which makes no sense as my parcel is worth £280.32 which with the handling fee and the customs tax and duty it should only be £80.77 anyone help?

Correct !:mad: Well my package has got to the local depot so just rang up to speed up the process. Charges are £6.39 import duty + £13.50 Parcelforce admin/clearance fee so thats £19.89 additional costs on an £19 product ! Something scandalous is going on here at the moment either like I say and I see here from others that HMRC are on a purge to charge everything thats even marginally over the limit or there is some colusion to increase Parcelforces profits as well. The supplier gave me no option but to use EMS but unfortunetly the gvrment might be on a winner here as going to have to think hard now before buying again from countries outside the EU which is exactly what they are hoping for.

it means your gonna get a VAT charge on your items, all my items are now getting sent via DHL, i have had 3 come thru, 2 charged and both the charges were £15... EMS charges were £50 so till Parcel force sort there stuff out im going with DHL as it works out cheaper

nice1 4 lettin me know what it means hope i dont get a massive charge as its a big parcel as long as its not seized im happy

got a charge of 47 pound payed it and item has been delivered glad they did not open it as it was full of vero items :thumb:

Custom clearance means the items are not yet deemed to be acceptable to be released.

HMRC (Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs) are debating what to do.

Given the time frame, I would think a letter of seizure OR a letter asking for you to pay duties will happen.

Such are the problems of thinking importation of foo-foos is easy.
It is not.
