well thank god it didn't kill a sale but it damn sure almost did.

it was working great the whole time, then started shipping some items to canada and the buyer sends me a message asking why they are getting charged extra.... i have to explain how that isn't me doing that its eb4y, and i have no idea why they are doing it.

one time it was an extra 15.00 and to this buyer it was 9.99  I thought it might have been a canada thing but nope.. got a buyer from austraila.. same thing.

we have to cancel, i create them a BIN and ship it myself.

I wish eb4y would explain!!!!!!!!!

started out working great.. then they just started ripping my customers off! :mad2:

golden_monkey 05-06-2013 02:04 PM

Re: Global Shipping Program

I did not know it was turned on so I used it today to send to AU. If they are relatives of GB it should be a cake walk. Can't beat $2.55 shipping to AU and I don't have to do the dam customs forms. I really hope it works as it will open up a lot of new selling channels. I'll keep ya posted for sure.

Re: Global Shipping Program

Nice point joesshooze - that is a good rate and no worrying about forms declaration...wow

Re: Global Shipping Program

Thanks rsot. It ships to Kentucky or some place like that and I guess I get my money 3 days after received their. So after received there I guess I am not responsible? I truly hope the customer is served well but I did my part and as long as my money is not in jeopardy I all good. I see that only certain countries are allowed to participate and my 1st is going the land of GB down under. It only took a week for something I once bought to come from there so customer should be happy if that happens. The only downside is if customer not happy with fees etc. and I get neg. feedback.

Be careful for future sales in case you do not want to do international shipping.

Thanks GB but I don't understand "be careful". If there are no hiccups I don't mind at all. In the past I was very reluctant. But with the global shipping program it looks real good for a new selling channel that I previously avoided.

If it's working for you, keep at it - it is a NEW service (relatively) so it's really still in the infantile phase...just keep that in mind

Re: Global Shipping Program

I am willing to give it a shot. I probably turn down a sale every few days for overseas shipment. I understand they only ship to approved countries. I am hopeful.

Re: Global Shipping Program

Just be careful the most recent eBay User Agreement for US Members. Says they can opt you into the Global Shipping program if you agree to it. You have to opt out yourself on all accounts they automatically opt you into.

I sold one item and saw the addy and had to figure what was up. Since my accounts are all nearly top rated, etc. I guess I was opted into the global shipping program. I have since opted out on all accounts. Just be advised the might try to sneak it in on you.

It has hiccups though.

Please be careful how you decide to do business.

Buyers may let you down despite your good intentions.

International sales can damage accounts.

i'm about to try this, my main question is the shipping charge for the international customer. is it a huge extra cost due to the Ebay jacking up the price? anyways ill test it out and report back.
id like to know and hear more from yall about this thing. it can be cool if it works out for Eb

I've been using this service for last 1 month and so far it's been great. I had so many selling to Canada and all of my customers feedback was great.

I don't have any issues with Canada. It's everywhere else that's the problem to me.

Canada and Scandinavia for me. Way back I use to get F'd over all over Europe not to get political/religious but it seemed like the Catholic countries. Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece (and France from time to time). I did have a few problems with the U.K. as well. Never had a problem with any Scandinavian country Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland. Always solid, seemed like good people too. Very few problems with: Germany always seemed to be good to me as well Netherlands, Switzerland and Luxemburg and Australia and New Zealand as well. I also never had a problem with packages to Brazil.

Most of my items now I block all but about 10 countries from purchasing on most of my items. Many of the hot sellers I only do US because INT is an unnecessary hassle in those instances.

but isn't the new Global Shipping Program to protect sellers like us, even in the case that we ship to the countries you mentioned?
theres pretty much a guarantee that it gets delivered without the buyer screwing us over..

Haha, eBay protecting you. That would be a first. Like 99% of weight loss drugs. What they claim and reality are two completely different things.
