They must have charged you for the "adult signature" option which would cost $9.70 for this shipment. I think that's where the mail carrier tries to check the recipients ID.

yes,thats what the recipient wants me to do.
I have done business with him before,this is the first time he asked .
The package is going to his P O Box.

Seems like a pretty implausible hypothetical you've come up with here. If they're having their order shipped to a PO Box, then there wouldn't be any reason to pay the extra $5 for an adult signature. Children can't sign for shipments in PO boxes. :juggle:

Seems like agent, you aren't shipping internationally to po box so unlikely to have package handed over to customes...unless you are shipping internationally

No,I am liquidating some of my gold jewelry ,the gold dealer is based in Iowa.he would sell them as scrap gold to US government.
All businesses ,even government ,if they want to buy gold say make jewelry,commerative coins or central banks adding to their gold researve,they buy from the government.
Unfortunatly our government does not have enough,it has to turn to London Exchange to get the gold .
He told me the whole country has gone crazy,looking for gold,they dont care if the piece of jewelry is made by some designers ,they will just want to pay you the spot price for gold.
Same thing is going on in China,Turkey,Dubai,everywhere !

I don't think the federal government is selling precious metals to private businesses. What makes you say that?


And more importantly, why would you decide to liquidate your Gold stock at a time when it's one of the best performing investments in the whole world?

Most businessses buy from US government,which include jeweler,commerative coin issuers, industrial which need gold in their manufacturing process,also central banks,of course it is not compulsory,they can also ask the government to hold them in its storage.
I cant recall which country,may be it was Venezuela,which is liquidating its gold reserve to pay bills,and no one is interested,finally it went to Africa and from there,some one finally bought them.
Those gold were central bank reserves,and it was transported by private plane ,that must be 20 years ago, xxx tons of gold loaded on the plane !

Gold does not pay me interest,besides,I decide to use the sales proceed to buy gold mining stocks instead.

It's outperformed any interest paying investment I have by a lot over the last few years. To each their own though. Gold isn't the most liquid thing to hold but it's also not very hard to convert into cash.
