Importing

Just want to get an idea of what people feel.

Basically, my supplier states he can't ship via DHL. So Only real options are EMS, Airmail and SAL.

Now it's looking like what I've ordered, which is mainly for personal use and to give to my friends, comes to around 14-15KG - which contains a mix of vero and non-branded items.

Do I need to split or is this okay to pass through customs via EMS?

I'm in the UK

Thanks guys.

GreenBean 05-02-2013 04:32 AM

14-15kg is pushing tolerance levels for Customs.

:juggle:

With that weight and importance of items, I would consider splitting.

JamesNorth101 05-02-2013 06:42 AM

More you split it the higher the chances it will all get though without issue. I have things stopped that come in at just 5kg pretty often.

Razorlight123 05-02-2013 07:31 AM

Thanks, I guess I'll split then.

Best to keep around 5KG level?

Razorlight123 05-02-2013 07:38 AM

If I combine two parcels - it comes to 7.1KG is this still pushing the boundaries?

Just seen this. Seems tricky.

Do Not send any Vero through EMS to UK. They check nearly all parcels at East Midlands Airport. If they stop the vero and you have straight stuff too, they might seize the lot!! Of all my parcels I have sent recently only my EMS ones were seized and they were single item parcels!!.

Razorlight123 05-02-2013 07:48 AM

I've had a 2.4kg from EMS Birmingham recently - all went fine, may have been due to your customs information sheet.

libbo 05-02-2013 07:50 AM

Its a chance you take with EMS, its DHL all the way.........I will never use EMS for Vero again!!

Razorlight123 05-02-2013 07:50 AM

Is DHL really that good, I've been hearing DHL are very strict with vero?

libbo 05-02-2013 07:51 AM

12 DHL all arrived
2 EMS Seized with Letters sent out
You do the Maths...............

libbo 05-02-2013 07:54 AM

If your supplier want use DHL, it must be because he has been blacklisted by them before.
I have been over to China and I dont like EMS. Same price as DHL takes longer to arrive back home, plus is as hot as hell for vero.

libbo 05-02-2013 07:55 AM

What is the vero you are sending back?

Razorlight123 05-02-2013 07:56 AM

Just some trainers. The supplier is saying DHL is very strict in their city.

libbo 05-02-2013 07:59 AM

Trainers like *ike will be stopped by UK customs at EMS. The chance is they will be examined and identified as Counterfeit and seized. Best thing to do is not send them in the boxes and without tags. After all they are personal and for Friends.

Your Supplier is pulling a fast one, Vero has a different shipping charge from straight stuff in China. You pay extra so it clears Chinese customs. Trust me I have been there and shipped myself from there.

Razorlight123 05-02-2013 08:27 AM

Is SAL okay for by passing customs.

libbo 05-02-2013 09:02 AM

Hi not sure what the weight limit is on SAL

Razorlight123 05-02-2013 09:07 AM

SAL Parcel - apparently 20KG

Similar to Airmail. If so that should be okay for my one thats just below 5KG. Just it will take a while which I'm not too fused about.

libbo 05-02-2013 09:09 AM

TBH it would take as long to ship via EMS, if your parcel was held up here. I am thinking of looking at this way next time I go to China. Please message on here if you go the SAL Route and let us know how reliable it is.

wilburnet 05-05-2013 11:52 AM

DHL are very vanilla when it comes to VERO. I have never got a package seized yet and my orders on average from Hong Kong are 21kg, which would be impossible to ship through EMS. i would advise find a different supplier who can ship by DHL

libbo 05-06-2013 12:00 AM

Hi do you know anything about sending vero SAL?
