EMS is double the price to US compared to DHL also double the hadling time. I use FEDEX instead, is cheaper than DHL but 3 day longer the wait. I gues at this point 3 days more is better than 2 weeks DHL.

If the parcel of "Aleen" is changed to shipment picked up, I think that our parcel soon will change status too.

Fair enough, but for the UK and Europe it's the same price, although, yes handling time is more. It's not 2 weeks to here, though. More like DHL 2-4 days and EMS 5-7. At least it has been for me in the past.

I asked Many suppliers and they said all couriers are effected including EMS. Problem is not courier but china custom clearance hubs.

Hong Kong and China are two different things. The problem is with the Hong Kong customs, as far as I was told. EMS doesn't use the Hong Kong customs it uses Guangzhuo which is in China, not Hong Kong. Although they're officially "China" they are slightly different.

I could be wrong, but I was told EMS is fine, and having used EMS in the past shows me that it uses different custom ports. I thought the issue was just Hong Kong customs, not the whole of China. Can someone explain more?

This is exactly the reason why it is dangerous to sell items that you do not have, relying on filling your orders when your shipment comes in. 4 day shipping is NOT a guarantee. Any hiccup like this could delay packages for weeks.

I will only ever sell something I do not have in my hands if the item arrived in the UK on Friday but would not be with the courier until Monday and I did not want to miss out on weekend days.

update: after having been held up one solid week i've just gotten movement on all of my parcels.

-clearance event.
-clearance event.
-processed at shenzhen
-departed facility in shenzhen

via dhl. this however is shenzhen-related information.

Customs status updated HONG KONG - HONG KONG 12:54
Further Detail:
Shipment has been given a release by Customs. Next Step:
Unless there is an adhoc exam or a stop by another regulatory authority the shipment will proceed to delivery

I have this information "The media published news articles about Chinese customs corruption in a jewelry theft case. This has made the Chinese government investigate every single parcel. It was also found that people had been smuggling drugs too only a few days ago. All parcels are Hong Kong will probably be delayed at least one week more, if not even longer."

He confirmed what I said about EMS. It uses the mainland and not Hong Kong customs, so it's fine to use. I will order using EMS today and let you know if I have any issues. I am expecting it to arrive next Monday.

Thanks for the information sheva. I will ask my supplier to send items through EMS as well. I will update once I have some information.

Me too. My two parcel of 12 September are still in "Shipment information received". Incredible...

Mine was shipped on the 17th.

Hopefully it isn't too long before everything's back to normal again!

All my packages have finally been updated to "shipment picked up" this morning. Yayyy! :)

One package was shipped on the 10th and one on the 15th. Both have been saying "Shipment info received" since than. This morning I checked on status on both and they are both moving along. :hail:

That's good to hear. Mine was shipped on the 17th so hopefully mine will change in the next few days:)

Well my supplier has just told me that dhl is fine now & my package should arrive in 5-7 days :) dhl rang my supplier & said the package has now been sent out :)

My package has been with dhl hold since the 13th my supplier has send a link to prove they have it just waiting for it to move on. DHL will not tell you anything as they dont even know whats going on themselfs. it was only 2 tons of money why all the fuss lol
