Default Multiple accounts for Aus paypal

Suncorp ..... you can open upto 9 sub accounts for each MAIN account (EDO - Everyday Options account)

if you want to be really safe go for 1 main and 9 sub = 10 accounts.....

if you really really wanna push it....go with 2 main and 18 sub = 20....but not more than that!!!

I went as high as 30-40 then got it blocked after few months! lol.....

but 10-20 should be fine....and yes u can use each of them as a normal account as far as paypal is concerned....

hope that helps!
Fairgo.....

What happens if you get a paypal dispute? And they refund the buyer? Do they take it out of the bank account?

I want to do this, but i know that at some stage i will have someone who wants to be a pest and a refund etc etc, and i dont want a bank account going into debt as then its a debt i have to repay.

I use Community Mutual (used to be credit Union) who set me up an 'internet maximiser' account at zero cost because there's zero fee's for administration. It's a high interest account at 3.5 % payable on any money that goes in there.

The beauty of them is you can set up as many as you like. I told them I am a web designer and It'l be easier to track what money is coming from which site if I have
seperate accounts. You don't get a debit card but you don't need one to have it.
0 Fee's, High Interest Paid Anually, As many accounts as you want.... Sweet!!!

The Account Names are customisable so I change my bank account name to my stealth account ebay name for ease. And you can transfer your money between them as you need so if you are worried about paypal just transfer it over to the other account that they can't touch.

I also use Westpac ... I have a netsaver and a savings account attached. Both of them can have the names customized as well.

The Community Mutual Group

I hope that helps.

@sai, because bank accounts are made with your real ID, there would not be a problem. The required ID should be available

Keep All accounts in your real name. DON'T mess about with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ID or any crap like that.... it's a federal offense and you will get F'd in the A'

Then when you 'add bank account' from paypal try a variation of your real name or at the very least leave your last name the same. Paypal want you to think they check but they won't and can't.

The bank aren't going to worry if there's money coming in with the last same name. relatives could be sending you money or you might have a husband or wife that helps in your business

From the Community Mutual site:

How do I apply?

It’s easy, simply call 132 067 or visit any branch to discuss how The Community Mutual Group can meet your financial needs. To use this facility you must be a member of The Community Mutual Group. Membership can be obtained by purchasing one $10 share which is refundable on resignation. Call 132067 for more information.

Phone contact will be the way to proceed for a couple of reasons. It still appears to be a credit union. Therefore residence in its various localities might be needed. It also ask for a $10 share to be paid to join

lol..... I have one of those popcorn machines it's like a glorified hairdryer but you don't have to bother keeping an eye on it like on the stove top.

Community Mutual like you to go into a branch to apply so they can check ID. I only needed my license to apply, it was too easy.

I've signed up for Westpac over the phone but still had to go into the branch with ID to activate it which ment I could receive money but not transfer or withdraw it.

Ok one new thing I've discovered with the Community Mutual accounts is that although you can have as many as you want at no cost etc. additional accounts append codes to the end of your member number like S30, S31 etc ... Even though you can change your accounts to personalised names tha reflect your paypal/ebay account name and I've just discovered that you can't use letters via Paypal like S30 appendage you can only use your official member number.

I just got off the phone to them and the only way around it is opening up more accounts under different member numbers. but as Greenbean said you need about $10 to start up a new one.... Oh and yes they were a merger between the Credit Union and New England Credit Union to form the Community Mutual. Some food for thought there .

Having said all that I think the Westpac idea is the best because you have a saver and an internet account both of which can be linked to seperate paypal acconts and the account names are totally customisable.... You don't need $10 to start one up .. but you aren't going to get that massive interest payable either.

Oh hey Greenbean a little off topic but I just found the Post office sell pre-paid VISA cards like in the stealth guide.. I didn't think we had them over here.

I was trying to get Metallica tickets and all pre-sale tickets are only sold to VISA customers, because everyone I know are Mastercard holders it was stressing me out.

You can buy $50 and $100 prepaid VISA cards from the post office work just the same as a credit card ..... If you want to use it for ebay/paypal.

I'd start a new topic but I still haven't figured out how

@Fonky From what I recall, the Post Office stopped dealing with the prepaids you mentioned. 2nd report of their being available again: Thanks

FYI of those thinking of 'online' accounts. Be aware at some point you need to go to a branch to verify you are who you are. Do some homework to find out which banks will be easy to use

NAB - need drivers L and utility bill to open an account, get a main account and savings, savings atm earns 6% interest. Also get a visa debit card.

Commonwealth -can open up 3 accounts, with only the main account having a fee of $4 - unlimited transactions online. Comes with mastercard debit card, the other 2 accounts pay sweet f all interest but a re good for depositing paypal into.

Westpac - can get 3 accounts - mastercard debit card, roughly 5% interest on savings accounts.

All same deal with ID as NAB and you dont need to deposit any cash.

Heyy Fairgo,

That's really awesome that you can open soo many sub accounts with Suncorp. I'm definitely going to try this..

Did you have any issues getting money out after you account was blocked?
I assume you refer to your bank account.

Thanks.

Hey GB.... I just used my post office visa pre-paid to pay for ebay fee's and do Paypal verification... I took a step back when the paypal verification came up because they charge $2 AUD to the card and the information that comes WITH the card says you cannot top it up, so I thought this would be useless and that paypal would receive a rejection by trying to send $2 to it.

But nup it worked... all I had to do was long into https://www.only1gift.com.au/ you can check the balance there and the paypal deposit popped up WITH the verification code! BOOYAAAAA
