Just a thought, has anyone ever used their local post office as the return address on their ebay account? i'm friendly with the staff at mine and was wondering if it's worth a punt

I wouldn't want to put their post office business at risk by doing this. As highlighted by their appalling treatment of the subbies with the Horizon fiasco, who knows what they will do!

There are other cheaper options than a PO Box. There are some small independent shops that may be willing to do a deal with you. It's what I do.

If it is a USPS you can use General Delivery and not have to pay anything.

One customer is insisting on returning a product even though I've refunded him and politely asked him to keep the item or give it away. He thinks he's being godly but he's just costing me money on eBay return label.

I imagine the Post Office will direct you the nearest PO Box service, which obviously costs money. Another option is to email the customer a "Returns Form" with your actual address on it and ask them to fill in the form and send it to the address stated on the form. That way Ebay won't see the address and you will get the item back.

The efficiency of this method can vary depending on how far your actual address is from the registered one (If it is a different country it will look suspect) and also it can depend on the customer too. Some of them are funny about sending to a different address (I usually explain that it is the dropshipper's address) but I find it's best to go with my gut, and if I think the customer is going to be an awkward self righteous tw@t then I usually just refund them straight up and try not to think about it lol

If they insist on returning it, i'd get them to pay for shipping. In the end you have already refunded them for the item anyway.
