No, most of these accounts are stolen. I would not recommend buying these powerseller accounts.

I've never heard of it actually being done.

However, it certainly is possible. Here's a scenario. If I wanted to sell one of my LLCs which happens to run an ebay business...

Selling you the LLC means you own the business. The LLC technically owns the account on ebay. So, the ebay account doesn't get transferred. It remains owned by the LLC.

Why anyone thinks buying an alleged 200k/yr powerseller business for 1200 bucks isn't an obvious scam is a whole different issue. I would never sell a business for 1/2 of 1% it's annual value....

Lol....most of those offers are scams. Why would anyone want to buy a business when they can create and ebay account for free themselves.

By the rules - not possible if your account is registered as an individual or as a sole proprietor or even a partnership. If set up as a corporation, you wouldn't be selling the login - you would be selling all the shares of the corporation and thus a different person would own the corporation and the assets but the corporation still 'owns' the login. Sophistry, in a nutshell.

Buying a business is more than just buying the login. Buying the business includes established clientelle, software, copyrights, trademarks, licenses, tax ID number, etc.

Buying something already created which has an established system from start to finish can get somebody going right away - as opposed to spending months and months just getting it together enough to begin the first transaction THEN having to build a base and get the reputation somebody else already built instead.

Is it smarter for a new entrepreneur to build his very first McDonalds franchise? Or smarter to buy one that already has stripes painted on the parking lot? Wait or Get To Work (you see)?

Me, I'd buy my first one. When it came time to expand, I might consider having the others built just for me (since I'd already have an income in progress).

Yes you are correct vic. But just be careful since most of them which I have seen are stolen powerseller accounts. I have seen sooo many stolen accounts. Man, there is a whole forum selling stolen credit cards, ebay, paypal accounts and bank log ins.

That's good advice, Yoz. It wouldn't cross my mind to consider the potential for an account to be stolen then put up for sale. But then, I'm not buying one either. If I ever do, I'll remember your warning.

I thought it was 1,200 but it's accutally 1,200,000. Looks like the person was drunk or something.

i actually asked ebay about selling/buying an ebay account, they said, only if it also has an actual brick and mortar business, for example...those "SOLD IT ON EBAY" stores, if you buy that, you can also get the business's ebay account.....
this was a few years ago when i asked about it...so not sure if they changed any rules or not.
