Is it enough to just turn off the modem overnight for a fresh new IP address?
Hi guys.
Is it enough to turn off the modem overnight for a new IP address?
I know you get a new number after about 5 minutes, but are the numbers cycled? For example do you get say 10 IP address numbers and these are cycled so at some point you will get the same one again.
Or are there more or less an infinite amount of IP address numbers?
Thanks

Depends on your ISP. You're lucky as yours appears to be dynamic. Taking into account the problems you had yesterday, you are going to need to consider going beyond the same IP range....I just would not say to start again with IP numbers in the same range as those
older accounts.
ISPs allocate a certain lot for customers. The figures you mention are nothing like what happens. There's a post I'll find for you that explains it better. But do think of having a different IP
