I'm guessing most of eveyone here knows this. Basically the IRS is infecting e-commerce to help fund the health care bill and more money for the US Government. This is why PayPal and other sites will soon have MANDATORY SSN# requirements. Time to sign up in different countries!

This pertains to sellers who do more than 20K in sales... Honestly, who gets to that point these days?

It does however, to make the process easier, everyone has to give up those 9 digits.

Canada may follow suit but it won't be for a long long time. We have strong blocks up for giving out personal info like that - and it's not just the government. Lot of different quirks to the Canadian system - sadly these quirks also make it a heathen's heaven in many ways ha.

I am a little confused...Do you have to have EITHER 200 sales or $20k to get 1099-K to the IRS? Will you still get reported if you have let's say 500 sales but have not broken the $20k mark?

20k = reported to the IRS. However some sites like PayPal would require SSN# regardless.

iftheyrequire ssn we will be getting new ip addresses..if the irs wants infoonly for over 20 k, then we will all be okay. my name is will,so there has to be a way lol
