Default Any special treatment for business accounts?

Hi all,

I'm going to be setting up a fresh eBay and Paypal account this week. I've not used either for a good while now. The last time I was on eBay was just as the 10 items a month limit was introduced.

I've set up a new business with a friend who hasn't used eBay before so will be opening new account in the name of our LTD company. I see both eBay and Paypal have the option to open account as a business.

Do business users get any special treatment? Like being able to list more items / less limitations on accounts?

In general - maybe slightly higher limits to start but not much than that - has to grow like any other account

Not a given to have higher limits.

Their special treatment is they can get limited. Your creation of a business account must be correct. Items you sell must have the paperwork to match.

The accounts must work better than run of the mill accounts. That's your issue to ensure you do so.

AND beware of rolling reserves that might get placed by paypal.

Can anyone open a LTD company?

I mean, how does it work?

Just go on LTD and get register even though you need to set up a website

Yes. Anyone can open a LTD company. It's easy if you know what your doing, otherwise you can pay someone else to fill in all the forms etc for you.

I opened a business out of choice because of how much money I have made in the past and because I also now have staff to pay etc.

It gives off a far more professional image as well.

It does complicate your 'stealth' being on ebay/paypal.

Do a lot more reading before going down the road of LTD & companies. It is discussed in threads.

It is possible to exist on ebay without the company moniker.

LTD & companies get treated better by eBay and PayPal.

My work account has went down twice before and been restored same week.

When you register it with eBay and Paypal, does it require your company name or you real details

I run business accs but wondering at what point on a personal acc does ebay say this is a business acc not personal, and you must change it over. I had this happen a few years ago, think it was at around 100 per month listing level they contacted me...but cannot remember

I might start a thread on this as curious...

Reading around the other day on money saving expert I think, it mentioned they contact you and ask you to be a business after your 1000 sale, not sure if that's correct though.

ok maybe it was 1000 then...sure it was less, possibly it was because they were not making much money out of me, as it was all auctions of 99p and hundreds of them, haha....
yeah I go on MSE sometimes....I am just at 'convert' level there....unlike here, I wear a halo and am at 'da bomb' level
