Happens from time to time.

As to if your future shipments will be ok, depends what was in this shipment. If it was undervalued, or phake, then your address could be flagged for any further shipments coming into the UK

Had shipments checked. Waybill had error of address though. Items were not * cough* special

Other time was when the actual parcel came apart in transit.

Up to you to sort with your supplier for the future

Thanks for that, will test with some small shipments and see how it goes, address is not a problem but would prefer not to change. Was surprised it was checked by UKBA rather than HMRC

Well so long as the items are not questionable, and you have delcared the value correctly you will have no issues.

Really depends on whether you feel your items are counterfeit/illegal OP - if not...then inspection was fine and continue with business. If so...well, logical steps need to be taken

Contents of parcel meant their involvement.

I only ever get a small number of boxes sent over. Never been opened. One lot did go round the world and back again a few times for 6 weeks though which was rather annoying.

If you send so many a year do you get it any cheaper anywhere?

Darn right we are sure.

Names, addresses of importers are logged on a watch list.

There is a matching list of exporters.

Few data strokes, and both agencies can find out a whole HEAP of info regarding shipping activity.

They have to enforce the rules of Customs.
Dont think otherwise.

Hi,

have not had a parcel from Hong Kong opened by DHL border agency. Hoping DHL dont go the way of EMS where most parcels are checked. This would spell disaster for me and loads other ebay sellers.

Depends on what your selling. If the items are legitimate it should cause no issues.

DHL are not a border agency.

Border agencies are government departments of any country.

Exactly - if items are not legitimate...well the acquirer should be ready for whatever issues may arise - that's the risk

Basic steps of importing.

Items be on the level.

Duty be correct.

Parcel be wrapped well.

Dont try to hoodwink Customs.

They have never been known to like behaviour like that.

No different from ebay.

Play their game and win.

Simples.
