Default Request higher selling allowance? Much needed advise for a New Ebay seller!!

Hi Guys,

I am a ebay seller who started selling last week. I am a registered business seller and a long-term ebay buyer since the 2004.

Long story short, so far I have sold 54 items and getting close to the 100 selling limit fast. However I have only got one seller feedback (positive) so far and would like to have higher selling allowance. I have considered calling ebay but am concerned about getting suspended as I have had a Copyright Violation (MC019) from Ebay/VERo and has continued selling the Unauthorized Item under a different name.

Shall I call them and risk exposing myself?
Or should I wait for the allowance to go up slowly after I have collected a few positive feedbacks?
Or should I use my girl friend's ebay account to continue selling for the rest of the month while I wait for my selling allowance to reset?

Any opinion from you experts are appreciated!

Be wary of asking for opinions from experts.

You may not like the replies.

Why on earth are you going on selling an item that has the risk of MC019 attached?

Not bright to do on any account.

That's my opinion

Next one is to avoid using anyone's info but your own.

Be independent. Do not include a girlfriend in ebay business.

The origin of the VERO was from America and I wasn't aware of the infringement when I bought the stock. When I started selling I was selling worldwide and therefore caught their attention. I have since changed the title and description of the item completely and selling local only. It has sold fine for the past 4 days. Couple of other ebayer has adopted the same approach as well so I think I am under the radar for now. Do you think I can get away with it if I call them for a selling allowance increase?

I am including my girl friend as part of the business so her doesn't really mind that.

Do you reckon I should consider going stealth? would that be too much of an effort?

Issue you have in the UK is that a MC019 suspension can not be appealed.

Listing again and again will get you flagged no matter how you changed the wording.

I can not say call to possibly kill your account.

I would say avoid bringing your account under scrutiny.

For the future, your role as seller is to thoroughly check your item is in order to sell. Ignorance is never an excuse.

Good Luck

Don't call, it will bring attention to the account.

To raise limits, sell to the max each month and let them naturally rise

If you need to sell more, create more stealths.

Its down to you to make sure that anything you sell is legit. Cannot plead ignorance.

Thanks for the advise guys. I will take you words and not call them. The items I am selling were only some phone accessories of a "branded" character.

And there are tons of similar items out there. It is almost impossible to find out unless you caught the copyright/design owner's attention.

The problem is I have quite a lot of this remaining stock and other stocks to shift and wanted to sell for a good margin before all the other punters comes in to spoil it.

I started selling just under a week ago and had 100 items allowance. Does it mean I have to wait for another three weeks to be review? Or is 25+ seller feedback the barrier?

My ebay account was created a decade ago so I am not exactly a new ebayer. Would that help accelerate the review?

Any more advice are appreciated.

Stealth requires effort and diligence to implement correctly. Not at all hard but really important to keep accounts working for long time.

You really should not be going against eB sales rules unless you have clearance. Accoutn is in big jeopardy

OP, you have a lot of good advice - only thing missing is the stealth guide and off you go

Do you have any inkling what users here would do to still have THEIR old ebay accounts?

Most of us would die happily.

As I said , in my 1st response, you may not like the opinions you ask to get.

Stop being silly right NOW. Stop thinking of selling an item that could get a long standing account pulled.

The money you think you will make is not worth the pain of killing your account.

Be sensible. Keep this real account while you can.
