It does not matter that the goods are MADE in China, but you will run into problems witrh customers complaining that the delivery times are outrageous. Buyers want their items in 2-3 days, not 2-3 weeks. Placing a delivery time in your listing won't matter much - most buyers don't read listings.

But many sellers from China sell in the US. Is there any reason you could not have a China account and sell in the USA?

Yes it is fine but most buyers wont Ben want to buy it simply because it is coming from such a great distance because it usually takes about 2 weeks to get to USA depending on the type of delivery it is but if it takes anything longer than a week, I wouldn't recommend stating that it is being shipped from USA.

From a buyer's perspective, I can tell you that it REALLY makes me angry when I order something that is supposed to be shipped from the US and the seller turns out to be in China. I have nothing against the Chinese. In fact, I order stuff on eBay from China a lot. But sometimes I need an item quickly and then I search for US sellers so that I can get the item in a couple of days. When I find out it was shipped from China, I become angry, because if I was OK with getting it in 2 weeks, I would have ordered it from a seller in China to save a few bucks.

It is never a good policy to mislead people. Because some people may not care, but you will end up with enough bad DSR's and negative feedback to kill your account.

Completely agree with Jeff, I've purchased stuff from sellers who had the item listed in the USA and all of the sudden the tracking said it was coming out of China...pissed me off big time!

I personally wouldn't really mind as long as I receive my product within the delivery time peridot advertised in the listing.

Yeah, OK, but that is not going to happen if the item is coming by e-packet or airmail from China. It takes 2-3 days just to get through CUSTOMS, not to mention the travel time. Usually, I am looking at 10-14 days for packages - even small ones - from China. The only thing that comes fast is FedEx and DHL. And I hate using FedEx for packages from China, because they seem to have a real attitude about it. DHL is quick and fast. But they don't handle small packages.

Must be super fast shipping to the UK! When I order from "Most" US Sellers I get my stuff 3-5 Max.....I've ordered from Chinese sellers who lied about where the item was located and literally most took 21 days....not exactly the same.

I have seen it work before. But you have to change the item location and pretty much if any customer complains then you have to refund them or offer them a replacement. Most the sellers claim Hong Kong rather than mainland China even though they ship China post.

If the profit margin is there than do all things considered. Just make sure customers know it might take 2 weeks for delivery, etc if sending items China Post or China Post ePacket which is common.

On a lot of products China sellers offer shipping to the U.S. via DHL or Fedex which takes 2-7 days. I have had numerous packages delivered in just 4 days from China to the U.S.!

even with a US account, you are still able to set you item location at China, and calculate the shipping time based on China to US.

If EB acc is US, and you state in every listing, that items are located in China, it will not be a problem. But if you state that the item is in US, but it is in China - there will be lots of problems.

usually takes about a week for parcels to get to UK, would obviously depend on the delivery service.
