Exclamation Amazon: Inauthentic & Competition Issues.

We have removed your listing because of a buyer complaint about the condition of an item they received from you. Your listing will remain inactive until we can work with you to resolve the concern.

What you can do

If you believe this was in error and would like your listing reinstated, email seller-performance-policy@amazon.com and let us know.

I create my own listings and sell on them. Competition comes and piggybacks on them. I don't mine that. What I do mind is when competition plays dirty and do "test buys" to shut down your seller account. This is what I think is going on here. Why in the world would I list anything that is different than what I am selling?

I've submitted invoices and have had listings reinstated plenty of times. BUT the problem is that each time this flag is relayed to me, it's another nail in the coffin.

How do you deal with FALSE "inauthentic" claims?

I'm not saying this works for everyone, and I'm not even sure this is the correct advice to give: but I try to make this as personal as possible as quickly.

I contact the person directly if I can, and when they answer their phone in their casual setting (try to call around dinner time) I try to sound as authoritarian as possible. I explain that I'm working with the company closely to ensure customer service. I read off their address, and ask if they'd like a home visit from a technician. If I'm able to get any other personal information, like their workplace (from either linkedin or facebook) I ask if any of their coworkers, or their boss at XXX company would like our assistance with similar devices and if we can contact them regarding this issue.

Oh, its not you that placed the order? It's your husband? Terrific. Let me inform you about your husbands shady internet dealings and my records of your IP address and the phone number to the local FBI station. I've been in touch with Agent [name] and he's asking for more information regarding the case. Would you be willing to provide the names of shipping services that have been delivering packages to your doorstep?

If they want to play dirty, I play dirtier. And after a few years I've learned you can do a lot with the internet. People think they're invincible on the internet and they do things they wouldn't normally do. I make it my priority to let them know they pulled the tail of the wrong wolf.

You need to come to the realization that the person you're dealing with is prepared to bend or break rules to damage your business. If someone is threatening my livelihood and way of living, I promptly let them know that I defend what is mine by any means necessary and that I'm not rolling over so they can have free money.

I don't recommend this for everyone though. I'm probably one of the more aggressive sellers on these forums and I'm sure a lot of people will post better solutions. But this is what works for me.

Do these add up against you for negative performance reviews?

omgoozle -everyones husband has shady internet logs....wouldnt scare me, I would know that was a f ake call and threathen them right back....plus how do you get info on someone not using their real details, which is likely, if OP is correct on competition......

OP - when you say change listings, they cannot change your listing though, they can change it so the search shows up different for them but not for you.....unless I am missing something.....

false inauthentic, if someone wants to play that game, it is so hard to solve, if they can stealth...

They aren't changing the listing. I'm selling what is listed. It just comes back as a complaint that it's inauthentic. How does a seller prove that? They can't. I sent an email to Jeff, didn't receive a reply. Shucks.
