Default Is Offering Second Chance Offers Risky?

Hey Guys,

I have a 5 month old account with 150 feedback on. I sell a lot of low value items and start the auctions at £0.99 Quiet a few of the items are selling for more, and I wondered if it would be OK to offer second chance offers.

I've heard before this can cause problems with newer acccounts.

Do you think it would be OK?

Thanks

To me that is not such a 'new' account. You have a reasonable FB. Should not be a problem. Read this thread as well:

Lot of info that helps.

How would this work, if the item is won and the transaction goes thru, how can you send a second chance email to second bidder via ebay.

You can send 2nd chance offers to all non winning bidders if the first transaction is completed or not.
I dont think 2nd chances offers are risky per se
I always automate the 2nd chances with selling manager pro even with brad new accounts, if you do this make sure you set it so you stop sending them after a certain amount, I listed a couple of items just before christmas and got far more interest than usual and ended up sending 25 2nd chances offers out about 10-12 were bought straight away and paid for immediately- this was too much money for such a new PayPal account and ended up limited.

If you have more than one item the same (not said in the listing) then a second
chance can work. One of my items is great for this for Christmas.

does this apply to vero items eg ones you cannot list more than 2 a month per account or error message comes up, if you spray 2nd chance offere everywhere and the original transaction went through and 2 people accept, doesnt that flag you up as circumventing the rules?

2nd chances are fine they do not count as extra listings as they are sent out from the same listing as the first transaction, and they are not visible to anybody except the people who receive them so its not like having lots of extra vero items listed.
Lyda what makes you think they are a bad idea? I dont know of any reasons why they would be

In moderation, they are fine. I do mine during the holiday season. The items are in demand. I take seller's advantage then.

I agree, anything in moderation is probably OK....and if you have more than 1 to sell, which I never have more than one of the same. But those selling vero designer stuff, have winning bidder and than go with second chance....me, wouldn't do it.
