Default Ebay Technical Error??

I'm trying to set up an ebay account and am getting this frustrating "technical error" message when listing my first item for sale. At first, I thought "oh it's just a stupid glitch in the system, I'll try again in a few minutes". No luck. Then.. ok, I'll give it a couple hours. Still no luck. Then how about later today.

No dice.

What's going on? Did they find something on my computer they don't like? I've made double sure I've delete ALL cookies, switched routers & checked IP. Should I dissolve this account and start over fresh? Help..

What are you selling and are you using turbo lister? Its usually in the Title is the problem from my experiance.

I've tried listing two diff items. Both are "How to" Manuals... one for website design & another on piano. Nothing major. The title for each book was exactly as on the book cover. Nope, I'm not using turbo lister, just the generic listing form.

What exactly does the error say? just technical error?
If so, its probably just a temporary thing and nothing to do with linking accounts or anything like that. Try clearing cache and trying again or try it with explorer just to see if its a browser problem

Hm, ok, well I'm at a computer that is "linked" to an old account, so I can't go through the process to see the error at the moment, but if I can recall correctly it was something like, "cannot process your request due to technical difficulties".

At first, I thought nothing of it... just thought it was another temporary ebay spasm.. but I tried again and again... and even 12 hours later. I also switched my browser. I tried both Safari (I'm on a macintosh) and Firefox. Also, it let me get to the enter bank card information pg during my first few attempts and now I can't get past the submit listing page.

yoyo, here's a thread from some months ago.

I am wondering if you are listing a e-book? What is the category? Over the past weeks there have been a couple of differences with ebay changing what can be listed. Hope you can solve the problem soon

Thanks, that's helpful.. I'll do what those guys did and hopefully have a positive outcome with the ebay bots. If anyone else has any other advice to throw my way, I'd appreciate it.

I'm dealing with this on one of my accounts as well. I don't know what the problem is exactly. Only 1 of 10 accounts though.

Default Yes it is a error

Just pick a new number and try again, you will see it works. Just update your personal info and be ready to receive a phonecall from Ebay customer service. Doesn't happens always but they called me ones after i changed the phone number from a brand new account. They gave the same error message 2 times, picked a other number and everything was o.k.

Don't worry

I just had this problem and only thing i could figer out that causes this is the user name. I used the word casino in my id and it would not work so i made a new account with a new id name nothing to do with casino and it worked fine. I also noticed in the past is u try to use a user id with the same name as a email it will always say the ids already taken but really it an't and if u do change your email to match your id on the email comfrim screen it will give u that same tech error cause ebay dose not want your email and id to match

Has anyone got past this on their accounts? My account that ran into this error is still having problems 2 weeks later. I have talked to live chat a dozen times and no one seems to be able to help. I'm gonna have to just ditch it soon. I just hate wasting good bank accounts.

This same thing happened to me about a month ago. It took me over a week of not getting past the error before I decided I needed to use the account. This is how I finally got it solved. I messaged live chat and they said I needed to be transferred to billing, I talked to billing and they said I needed to be transferred to regular live chat, and then I was transferred back to billing once again, I exited the chat and said the heck with it! Then the next day I decided to give it another try, the same thing again, live chat transferred me to billing and then back to regular live chat. Let me add, every time before I could type don't transfer me again, they had transferred me. So once I was transferred back to live chat the last time I typed as fast as I could DO NOT TRANSFER ME AGAIN! I explained my problem for about the 6th time. He said I don't know what would cause this and was acting like he has never heard of it, I said I searched on Google and I'm not the only one with this problem, what do you tell everyone else with this problem. He replied I am going to send this to someone else(I forget who he said) and he said I will email you with the results. I was thinking yea right, I'll never get an email from them. About an hour later I get an email saying the problem has been fixed! I log in to my account and the error is finally gone! :D

I would suggest you demand they fix it until they do, I'm not sure why no one else could in live help could have done this.
