Could not agree more. Trial and error gets you to where you want to be. And thats being back in control.

i see that paypal notes that it holds funds for 15 days now.. or does this vary by category??

Burst 10-15-2009 05:01 PM

Must vary per category. One has a 18 day hold.

TBH 21 day holds dont even apply anymore. What was said in the beginning still holds to this day. It all depends on how you raise the seller account.

Paypals website defined their holds a little more now. Im not seeing the *Have to wait three days after delivery* anymore.

The money may be released sooner if:

1. We can confirm that the item was delivered
2. Your buyer leaves positive feedback. (Applies only to eBay items.)

My observations are that the hold variables have changed relevant to changes in the T&S for paypal. Since the announcement of holding a % of funds for some accounts, matters are different.

Still the same bottom line, run the account correctly & enjoy the benefits of paypal

The difference in days is because the page is on a timer now. Meaning, its still a 21 day hold. However, each passing day will lower the time left until clearing.

ebay got me again 10-18-2009 11:05 AM

So is anyone given up the ol trick if so pm me

medway30 11-08-2009 05:06 AM

im willing to pay anyone who will pm how to set up ppal account and lift limits. I cant afford to keep trying in error :(

oompaloompa 11-08-2009 06:13 AM

^^^ there is enough info on forum to help. Which step are you having trouble with exactly?

medway30 11-08-2009 06:29 AM

the last time i tried they would put items on 21 day hold and there was no way of getting around it partial refund no longer worked :(

oompaloompa 11-08-2009 06:49 AM

So you are saying you tried to lift limits by going through their checklist - what did they ask for? What did you provide?

Then you began to get 21 day hold, on everything or random, for first time?

I dont think the two are related. Everyone gets 21 day hold on certain items, randomly or certain amounts, especially with young accounts. Stick to the issue about lifting limits, and explain exactly......did you lift limts in the end or are still trying?

medway30 11-08-2009 07:10 AM

its just the 21 day hold that stops me i could lift the limits and verify account etc
they put 21 day hold on every item, is there no way around the 21 day hold?

oompaloompa 11-08-2009 08:18 AM

no, the 21 day hold has got nothing to do with liftng limits, the 21 day hold is just a hold on sales you have made until either 21 days or feedback is left.

medway30 11-08-2009 08:20 AM

so there is no way around the 21 day hold until feedback is left then? or 21 days has passed?

oompaloompa 11-08-2009 08:32 AM

there is no way around the 21 day hold, just accept it and if you give good service feedback should be forthcoming, build up your dsr and they will become more infrequent. The only way to avoid is to avoid being paid by paypal - very difficult in UK

I think you are mixing up terms of 21 day hold with lifting limits, which is different (that is your sending and withdrawing limit, in UK its £1700)

medway30 11-08-2009 08:44 AM

No i know the difference, there used to be a way around the 21 day hold by giving a partial refund but this no longer works so was wondering if there was a new way around this but I guess not :(

Thanks anyway

lakeman 11-08-2009 09:02 AM

I know a great way around the 21 day hold. Ship your items fast, input tracking info into Paypal, and wait for your funds to be released. :D

oge 12-13-2009 10:23 PM

^^^^^^ So that's how you do it?

jbluntz 12-13-2009 10:58 PM

Also after the items been delivered e-mail them to leave feedback as soon as they leave feedback the hold is released usually within the next few hours.

vigilantex69 12-26-2009 07:55 PM

Is there ANY way around the 21 day hold at this point? I know the refund thing doesn't work, so is there any other way around it?

aking 12-31-2009 08:16 PM

lol we're still talking about the 21 day hold huh...
