So I have a bunch of PayPal accounts that were limited over 180 days ago with money inside them still. When they were limited they requested information and I never sent them anything.
How do I get them to let me withdraw? Do I need to complete their steps still or is there another way?
Thanks,
-HeG |
| lakeman | 05-10-2009 03:24 PM | You can withdraw the money to the bank account, if you have one attached to the paypal account. If not you can request a check. Once the 180 days are up you do not have to give them any of the requested info to get your money. |
| Hottest_eBay_Goddess | 05-10-2009 06:20 PM | Yeah, I get that but... I do not have a withdraw option... |
| GreenBean | 05-10-2009 06:22 PM | Then you get a check to the address on file ;) |
HEG, did you get my response to your PM? I haven't heard back, so don't know. |
| Hottest_eBay_Goddess | 05-11-2009 02:34 AM | I did get your message, will reply to it soon. |
| cortex | 05-11-2009 07:06 AM | Lyda..feel free to send me the info too..I have an account soon to come off the 180 day hold... |
Cortex, OP asked me something else, not how to withdraw.... |
| eBayRoadKill | 08-18-2009 09:51 PM | Several Paypal accounts Limited? I have about 6 paypal accounts limited. All have a little $$ in them. A couple have bank accounts on them to have the $$ transferred after 180 days. The others don't and the names and address are bogus. After the 180 days, can I add a bank account onto the account to have it sent there?
Thanks!!! |
| GreenBean | 08-19-2009 03:11 AM | Too late to add a bank account. System changed sometime ago.:tears: |
| Vicvelcro | 08-19-2009 03:23 AM | Endorse the checks for 3rd party deposit. |
| bluemoon999 | 08-19-2009 10:28 PM | Each bank varies. Each person that works for bank is different. Banking laws and regulations changed after Sept. 11 to stop funding for terrorism. To deposit a check into an account, the person (especially the last name) who the check is made payable to on the front of the check must be a signer on an account before the check can go into that account.
Whether or not your bank requires that endorsements be verified will be a matter of bank policy. Many banks have refused to accept third party checks specifically because of the difficulties of verifying endorsements, and the long life (up to 3 years in most states) of any potential liability for a forged endorsement.
However, your bank may allow it. Call, or just go there and ask. |
| Vicvelcro | 08-20-2009 03:01 PM | I've only seen problems with CASHING 3rd party. To simply deposit and forget it, never an issue. Maybe start a thread naming the banks who implemented that (??) |

so is the money gone then? |
| GreenBean | 08-21-2009 11:16 PM | No: there are ways around it,nobody. :peace: |
| Hottest_eBay_Goddess | 08-23-2009 05:22 AM | Hey, my old thread! Neat!
So you can't add banks to limited accounts anymore? No way! The last time I did it was like back in May, but it still worked then. So when 180 days comes around now and the withdraw options comes back to life, your just screwed? What if you never had a bank accounts on the account to begin with?

| GreenBean | 08-23-2009 05:57 AM | Post 15 gives a blanket answer;) |
| SECondplaygames | 08-23-2009 06:00 AM | so how do you get the money out? |
| Hottest_eBay_Goddess | 08-23-2009 05:31 PM | SECondplaygames, Post 15 gives a blanket answer. lol |
| SECondplaygames | 08-25-2009 01:32 AM | what the heck is a blanket answer? I feel like a dummy. |

| alphaversa | 08-30-2009 04:35 PM | You can still add a new bank account and withdraw your funds. What I did was contacted the BBB after they wouldn't let me add a new bank account. An "Executive Escalations" member contacted me by email within a week and told me I could withdraw my funds to whatever bank account I wanted. Paypal will try to hold your money if you don't fight for it so keep on fighting... |
| RobFagles | 09-01-2009 06:08 PM | So now when 180 days are passed, we can't simply add a new bank and get our money out? When did this change happen? |
| Vicvelcro | 09-01-2009 07:46 PM | I can't give an exact date, but it was at least 5 months ago. Or shall I say they were at least beginning that policy more than 5 months ago, but not fully implemented that far back perhaps. Some people might have been able to add a bank more recently than 5 months ago, but at least some had a problem back then.
You know how they are about implementing things. Sketchy usually. |
There should be a law that PayPal must pay interest on the funds they hold from poeople, at least at money market rates. Instead, they are probably drawing this interest and are stealing this money.
Does anyone know if there is some kind of disclosure PP gave us and we had to agree to when opening PP account?
In Real Estate there is one that customers/clients need to sign even when earnest money deposit checks stay with the firm only for days or weeks. In such a disclosure it is clearly stated who will earn the interest on funds before closing.:amazed: |
| bluemoon999 | 09-01-2009 08:31 PM | In USA, PayPal is licensed as a money transmitter on a state-by-state basis. PayPal is not classified as a bank in the United States, though the company is subject to some of the rules and regulations.
In Europe, PayPal is registered as a bank in Luxembourg under the legal name PayPal (Europe), a company regulated centrally by the Luxembourg bank authority.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, there are approx. 100,000 complaints outstanding at PayPal (Are any of these yours?). In many instances disputes can run on for months leaving people frustrated and out of pocket as they are unable to access their accounts. So what happens to the millions of dollars tied up in frozen accounts and disputes? Well, here is a clip from the San Francisco Chronicle that basically sums it up:
U.S. District Judge Jeremy Fogel of San Jose refused to dismiss a lawsuit that seeks class-action status on behalf of thousands of PayPal customers nationwide. A common allegation is that the company brushes off or stalls customer grievances for months and meanwhile freezes the customer's account and pockets the interest (So that's how they make their money!). No wonder they freeze so many accounts! :hellBoy: | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 07:45 AM. | |
