Which of these are ACTUAL virtual cards that I can alter the card's registered address with?

JackNoMore 09-09-2007 09:02 AM

I've seen some Greendot advertisements lately. Are they better than Vanilla? Both apparently available at your neighborhood pharmacy.

Green dot requires a SS#. And if you use the green dot with Paypal Green dot will freeze your credit card. They also frooze my account before because they sent me some mail and it go returned to them because of wrong address and cause me to miss a big deposit I had coming from a gig Stupos

I'm still fighting with them. They have $295 of my money locked until paypal fax paperwork!

Go to Ripoff Report Search Results: green dot and learn about

JackNoMore 09-09-2007 12:53 PM

Wow, first StopSign and now GreenDot. All the bad apples have their own TV commercials. I'm surprised Paypal doesn't.

Good luck with that...and the NBC thing too. ;)

anotherebayhater 09-09-2007 01:24 PM

thanks for the warning chris!

LongMan 09-09-2007 03:35 PM

For all those in the UK I strongly suggest using Entropay.com . It has been absolutely great!

BTW Pauluss have you tried using 3VCash? It looks great but on their faqs page it says that you can't make eBay seller accounts with them.

pauluss 09-09-2007 04:03 PM

hi longman

thanks for the update regarding 3vcash
The info i posted is what i have found in my searches since my suspension a weeks back - i have got the cashplus card fine and worked perfect for a new selling ID

i have not used 3vcash as yet but have ordered the purchase pack from them about 4 days ago

I will try once it has come through and report my success or failings :(

The section may be in the FAW just to put off people who could be out to scam using their services

Jonas 09-09-2007 07:47 PM

What do you mean paypal freezes your greendot card? Does that mean your greendot card can't be used for anything? Or paypal steals all the money? Or paypal just freezes your account?

Stuff that you can buy online without it being physical.

Cards that I have to wait for in the mail are the worst. Those Walgreens cards that people here CLAIM you can get right away, you actually have to wait weeks for them to come in the mail.

Chris Hanson 09-09-2007 08:26 PM

Jones, green dot will freeze the card

Why do they do this?

Can greendot even pay ebay fess?

Chris Hanson 09-10-2007 01:34 PM

Becasue they can get away with it and steal your money. This country is so stuck and focused on war and terrorism, that alot of companies see it as a opportunity

goose 09-10-2007 08:28 PM

international cards

Which of these giftcards can be registered with a non-U.S. address? Are they country specific or can I register them under any international locale? Thanks.

PAULUSS

hi,

i created an ebay account using this card.. however when it comes to creating seller account it has denied 4 times the card has 1£ credit.. does it need more balance so that it could be authorised... has any one used it? one more thing i m using house number and postcode same rest name and street address are ⊗⊗⊗⊗.. can this be a prob?

powerbid 10-09-2007 01:53 PM

this is quite strange.. this card is visa electron.. and when creating seller account it asks for visa/master card can this be a prob?

powerbid 10-09-2007 04:00 PM

NO modee,i think visa electrons are not available in usa.. they are just like any other debit cards but without overdraft facility... basically this pre-paid card is a travel money card can be reloaded and used anywhere with visa symbol.. i wonder if anyone from uk has used it to create a seller account.. one think i dont understand is... why it was so easy to create ebay account when it was asking for a credit card verification but now the same card for creating a seller account is giving authorization failure.. if someone has used it i m open to suggestions

powerbid 10-09-2007 04:13 PM

no i confirmed it has exactly 1 quid loaded onto it... basically the card provider has given telephone service for inquiries like balance, and last five transactions and i have confirmed the same.... i have one more of the same card type but in $ currency will try it later and let know the outcome..

powerbid 10-09-2007 05:54 PM

some updates...

well i tried to test two of these cards in multiple scenarios...

1. tried using ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name and address but keeping real house number and postcodes on ebay NO LUCK !!

2. tried using real name and address on ebay NO LUCK !!

3. tested this on my own website for a transaction as low as .05p keeping ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info... NO LUCK!!

4. tested on my own website for transaction as low as .01p keeping real info.. . NO LUCK!!!

the card was activated couple of days back and is loaded the minimum of 1£ each...

i dont have any clue wat could be the reason for these denials... anyone???

Chris Hanson 10-09-2007 06:48 PM

So which ones were they??

Jms 10-09-2007 10:39 PM

Ok I have register already with everything that this forum suggested. However I'm still confused about the gift card or the prepaid credit card since the gift card is consider a debit card. Will they both work? Do you need an address and if so how do I apply this address to link to the debit or credit card?
Also what does avs stand for?

yes modee, i tried them to check if the card issuer charges some sort of fee per transaction so i lowered to the minimum on my own site just to make sure if thats a possibility... but yep this is not ebay issue.. something todo with the card...

ill find out and keep posted

x2ruff4u 10-10-2007 03:58 AM

Modee his does belong in this thread, Prepaid cards and then giftcards. Also about the part with the avs belongs here too t.t

AVs modee is right about that. All tho there is CVS CVVS and some other made up crap ones all which contain 3 digit numbers, in case you ever get asked that they usualy tell you on the card 3 digits. Prepaid cards are pretty much the same as giftcards. You put 20 or 25 in prepaid and then use the card or u can call it a giftcard anywere. Giftcards are just like cc's.

powerbid 10-10-2007 07:15 AM

guess wat modee... solution at hand at last :)

well as i said the card had 1£ balance.. so when i first opened up ebay account it asked me for credit card verification i entered details from this card and all went well.. however when i was using the same card again to place credit card on file for creating seller account it was not authorizing... can u guess??? well ebay had originally charged 1£ so it had no remaining balance.. but as ebay will not take this 1£ so it will become available again in a couple of days... i figured that out after trial and error lolz so atlast problem solved :)

vers0 10-24-2007 08:11 PM

Modee, how to you pay your eBay fees if you don't mind me asking? I have been using the gift cards however I'm thinking maybe better to mail in payment with a money order. Can you recommend a solution for this? Will eBay be spooked by constant adding credit card to our profiles?

longisland88 10-24-2007 08:39 PM

modee doest pay his fees lol

wrznet 10-25-2007 10:15 AM

Is there any others stores selling Virtual Gift Cards online like simon.com?
I mean with online delivery.

ivegotinfo 11-22-2007 05:22 PM

are there any ones that work in canada? aside from

https://www.citizensbank.ca/Personal.../VISAGiftCard/
https://www.vancity.com/MyMoney/Prod...rds/GiftCards/

since i called them....and they seem to be dead..

Ballsack 11-27-2007 04:35 AM

Any giftcards on here that last more than 12-16 months?

ihatebay 11-27-2007 06:55 AM

go to talkgold forum, there are lots of sellers offering vccs

Ballsack 11-28-2007 05:28 AM

I just realized Simon is 2 years. That's pretty good. I'd prefer at least 3 but I'm ok with this. So I'm guessing it's $5.95 per card. Anyone know if you can purchase giftaccounts online with this?

vers0 11-28-2007 09:54 PM

I paid 2.00 not to long ago, when did Simon raise their fee?

Ballsack 11-29-2007 09:28 AM

That's for the giftaccount not giftcard.
