Default cant get simon to verify paypal... did i do something wrong?

I cant get the simon giftaccount to verify paypal. Once i put in the cc#, paypal's error msg states " can not verify the billing address of the credit card". I just tried this about 5 minutes ago. Before i made this post, i went back to the stealth guide and read this part over. The address i used to open my paypal acct was a friends address in another state. Is it because the ip im using is not within that address's zone?

Nope.

Did you log into the Simon site and set the information on that account to match what PP wants to see? And did you wait up to 24 hours for the Simon site to update the info so that when PP system checks it, it will give all the (in)correct answers?

Default Simon worked yesterday for Paypal.

I used a registered Simon for Paypal today.

Good Luck.

i also registered mine but however, the information i registered it with does not match with the paypal info. For example, the billing address and the name on my simon giftaccount is in a different city and state. So when i tried to use the simon cc#, paypal gives me the error msg stating that the billing address does not match. I thought paypal can not verify any info on the vcc?

In addition, i went and check the balance on the simon giftaccount, i see two paypal charges of $1. So the card was obviously charged by paypal in the attempt to see if it was a valid cc#.

So could it be that i did not use my bank acct info to do the initial verification? Because thats what i did, i just went ahead and input the simon cc# when paypal asked me for the credit card # i will be using to pay for my purchases at the initial paypal registration process. Please help!

First, the $1 charges aren't charges. They are attempts to authorize. They will roll off in a day or two, since they couldn't be validated.

Go back and carefully re-read the steps for using Simon. I think you maybe skimmed it quickly and jumped to some assumptions. You have to put the PP info on the Simon acct when you set it up. Not the main Simon USER info, just the info for THAT acct number. It's all pretty clear in the instructions - left to right, top to bottom, do everything in order - don't jump around and don't skip any steps.

PP can't see the full info on the acct. What PP does is send the digits of the address and the zip code to Simon. Simon says yes it matches or no it doesn't. So you need to change the info on Simon or buy a new one and do it (in)correctly next time. Give Simon the information PP will be asking for.
