I was thinking that last week. A few years ago I could sell something and literally remove the cash from ATM seconds later. I even did it a few times. Get an email on my blackberry I got paid and was near ATM So I just pulled it out.... It was soooo nice to be sure.

Oh yea, I remember those days where you could get a Paypal debit card with no hassle. I remember the days of having a basement full of inventory to sell. I remember going to sleep and waking up with 10 or more sold items with over $1000 in my paypal account. My only problem then was only being able to take out $500 a day through the ATM. :tears:

Was greater with money orders and checks in the mail ha - even way before the good ole days.

But yeah, like all goods things, takes a couple of "scoundrels" to muck it up and increase restrictions.

For sure. I remember thinking what a pain it was to have to go to bank machine every day to grab $500. Oh, what a pain that was... If I only knew.... What I wouldn't give for that problem right now.

I think it has to be a point system but there must be a base for it.

No payment I have received for under $40 has been held. Payments from people who have hardly any feedback or no feedback at all who are most likely new to paypal are not always held for me. Although they could just be new to Ebay

One thing I was thinking though, as Ive let my balance get a little bit higher in the accounts, the holds seem less. It's a small sample size but paypal could be not putting the 21 day hold on it because you have enough money in your account to cover the return? Maybe they use an average daily balance system

I remember the old day too when paypal still have the "bill pay" system so I can pay all my utilities bill and mortgage too. I missed the old days :D

^^^ i agree that they may use a avg daily balance. Also, i think that they do look at the other side of the transaction ( buyers paypal account). I had a buyer purchase an item over $300 with about 30+ feedback and a 4 year old paypal account , and the payment was held. I then sold the same item to a buyer with less than 10 feedback and <1yr paypal account and the payment wasnt held. I think Paypal also tries to protect their long term trustworthy buyers.
