Default Questions about paypal & account names etc

http://www.aspkin.com/forums/paypal-...a-account.html

I dusted off this thread and brought it back to the top cause it took me a while to find it.

So there is a big question for this topic that I can't seem to find a definate answer for.

It seems BOA is the bank to go with. And they have no problem with Stealth names. But are you guys talking about "any" name or name variations. The reason I ask is that some of you talk(in other threads) about having 20-40 or more ebay/paypal accounts. Name variations can only take you so far. So are some of you just getting by with any stealth alias?

It almost seems like there are two different types of people here. The ones that just need to get back on Ebay and sell a little here and there. And then there are the real PROs who are selling on 20-40 accounts, not counting all the ones they have had open and close before. (Let me back pedal on that statement. I'm not saying you can't be a real pro and only have a few accounts. The real point is I am wondering how people have so many accounts and keep creating more with just name variations.)

I have been learking, searching, learning, and soaking up as much as I can on these forums over the pase 8 days. I've stayed up till 4am just searching and reading old threads.

I almost feel that I'm still missing a little here and there. Like there should be an "Advanced Stealth eBook"...LOL

Sorry, didn't mean to rant. Really just had the question.

Night all

if you have a bank that forumers think is ok about different names....then you are then thinking of variations of names in order to be as close to your real ID as possible for all sorts of things eg. opening a post box, bank not causing a fuss over completely different name etc. Remember though, a variation in name means you have to supply THAT id to ebay/paypal if they ask, not your real ID usually. However, you can set up in real name and dob details and different address and possibly products and hope that the name will not draw attention - which it usually doesnt...on a clean, well-kept account..

look at it from ebays point of view, different address, same name and dob, same goods - all kind of link you to your banned account.

change enough that you are not linked , on the other hand accessible id is so useful.

The main change I would make is address, the rest is a matter of degree.....

you can of course make a comletely new account with no similarities ID-wise and as obstacles come up, sort out ID issues at that point.

all variables are possible and being done right now by forumers successfully. As you can see, the choices are yours.....it depends on your account and your needs and capabilities.....

The main thing is it matters what you sell and how much, and complaints/dsr, as to whether ebay/paypal even bother to look at your account anyhow..

Thanks for the input.

So are you guys saying that you just rotate through a list of all your name variations? So that way your bank and mailbox will still work ok?

Like if your name is "Robert Smith, and you used "Robbie Smith" and that account limited or banned with Paypal, you would use "Robbie Smith" again in a few months with a dfferent address?

And the only reason DOB would be important is if you need to prove something to ebay/paypal later on, correct? Otherwise it can be different.

Does anyone just use completely ⊗⊗⊗⊗ names in paypal and have that linked to a bank account in your real name? Like your real name is Robert Smith and your Paypal name is Greg Sanders, or whaterver.

Thanks again

So what I am hearing you say is:

A)You CAN reuse old name variations that you used before(that you haven't used in awhile on a current account), just use a different address and DOB.

B)You CAN use complete stealth names that have nothing in common with your own.

Another question for name variation. Is the use or non use of a middle name or initial enough of a name variation?

Thanks Again!

Paypal and ebay do not link accounts on the name.

You can either create a stealth account with your real name, and use any bank, and not worry about it.

Or you can use a stealth name with the banks that do not care about the name on the incoming electronic deposit, such as bank of america. I have some paypal accounts that make deposits into my bank of america accounts where the names don't even come close to matching. I also have several more accounts where the names do match, and deposits go into Wachovia or ING without any issue.

You have several options.

Ok, great.

Thanks for clearing up some of my questions.

Great to know about BOA. I've already opened one savings with them so I guess it will be safe to open a few more.

One thing thought about ING: I thought I've read in numerous threads on here that ING wants the Paypal name to match.

Yes, ING only cares about the names matching. I, and others, have confirmed this with ING reps over the phone.

ING is great, but the names have to match. If they don't, you'll probably have the bank account red flagged, along with the paypal account shut down.

Here's a post that aspkin made: gives the best run down on using ING
The actual post is POST 141 of the means to an end list
http://www.aspkin.com/forums/subscri...-end-list.html

So I've been pretty persistent with ING Direct for months now. I just like the ability to open accounts and use them right away without any problems. That is until I linked ING to a PayPal account under a different name. They do not like that at all and I knew that already, but I didn't have problems with another account under a different name so I didn't think it was a big deal. Wrong..

The very next morning after PayPal sent the verification deposits I got a call from ING, they asked me about recent deposits not in my name. I told them I opened a PayPal account under a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name because I didn't trust PayPal, etc and they said okay, just to update my PayPal details to match my ING account.

Basically update my name on the account and I would be fine.

They don't mind people using PayPal or any other online service, they just want the funds to come in YOUR name, or a similar name I found.

For example Bob is okay for Bobby, or Tom and Tommy

As long as the name is a nickname, I use nicknames a lot.

I just thought I let people know if you still wanted to use ING.

I think this is the info that you are after: notice how a bit of creativity allows you options in account creations
