Reason: Listing several high value items shortly after opening account. Phone verification required.

I think its also important to indicate how old your accounts are as well.

Of course. The above are between 7 days - 6months.

imjustme 04-22-2008 11:39 AM

not again: MC067 NOTICE followed by MC049 NOTICE

The same ^#*(@&*($ thing happened about a week ago. I used an account that was about 6 weeks old.

1. Logged in, linked to PayPal.
2. Linked Auctiva.
3. 1-3 hours later started listing 4 items.
4. 12 hours later I get a "MC067 NOTICE: eBay Listing(s) Canceled - Seller Suspended"
5. Followed a minute after by a "MC049 NOTICE: eBay Registration Suspension - User Agreement - Abusing eBay" that said:

We're sorry to tell you that your eBay account was suspended because recent account activity has raised serious security concerns. We've taken this precaution to protect our members while we make sure that the activity doesn't cause harm -- however unintentionally -- to the eBay Community.

I can't figure out WHY this is happening. I use 1-2 month accounts all the time, link them to Auctiva a few hours before I start selling. Out of 8 I started selling on with the EXACT same product, even the EXACT same description (down to every dot), 2 of them got whacked a day after the listings started for "Abusing eBay". I am starting to think their bots are going nuts.

411guru 04-22-2008 12:01 PM

lol damn. I'm sorry for you. It sux I know. You've must of slipped up somewhere.

MasterChief 04-22-2008 12:08 PM

eBay and VeRO is getting more and more random all the time.

imjustme 04-22-2008 12:26 PM

It's not even VERO that I'm listing. They're old household items that I'm trying to get rid of. I can't think of anywhere that I slipped. The only thing I'm starting to think about is that starting to list with Auctiva for your first listing gets you killed.

ebayaintstupid 04-22-2008 01:36 PM

Auctiva always killed me...

I couldn't pinpoint why and so I just stopped using it. That was about a year ago. After I stopped using it, I had a year of peace before my latest reign of terror from EBAY and Paypal.

ebayhateluv 04-22-2008 10:51 PM

Heres another Code:
MC010 SP NOTICE: eBay Ask Seller a Question or Contact eBay Member Alert

411guru 04-23-2008 10:53 AM

Whats that code for?

reds4588 04-23-2008 10:41 PM

MC0 CODES are these new????

I received a EBI Notice MC027 today for non-payment of ebay fees and although I have received account on hold emails before for not paying my fees I have never received one where there was MC027 in the title. Has ebay recently added these MC codes in their titles? I just wanted to make sure there is not something else up with my account where I might pay the fees and they suspend me for something else. For example, I received two emails earlier last year where my fees were late and all they said was "EBI NOTICE Account on hold for non-payment of fees". There was no MC codes in the title. Once again, is there a new system now where the MC code is in all emails? Thanks

ebayhateluv 04-24-2008 12:00 AM

help! suspended by Ebay

I just got this notice with a suspension for 7 days. I am still up on Paypal though they invited buyers to file disputes. Am a single mother of 3, full time student, and working 1 1/2 jobs, and despirately need the ebay income. I buy and photograph all my items, designer jeans, I get on sale from local dept stores, and resell on ebay. Anyone know what I can do? I thought if I purchased the items myself, photographed them myself I could sell them using the right name as outlined in the First Sale Doctrine. Is this wrong?

MC019 eBay Listing Removed: Trademark Violation - Unauthorized Item ( 198813314)

Dear seller

You recently listed the following auction-style listing:

190213206385 - TRUE RELIGION, Corduroy Jeans, Brown Sz 29

The listing was removed because it violated eBay policy. We notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has been canceled.

The rights owner, True Religion Brand Jeans, notified eBay that this listing violates intellectual property rights. When eBay receives a report of this type of violation, we remove the listing to comply with the law.

Trademark infringement is unlawful and violates eBay's policies. A trademark is a unique sign (such as a name, word, phrase, logo, or symbol) that a company uses to identify its products and/or services.

Using another company's trademark in a way that may confuse buyers about the source of goods or services, or confuses buyers into believing that the seller is affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by the trademark owner is both illegal and against eBay's policies. Examples include counterfeits, unauthorized replica items and items that bear the brand or logo of a company without that company's permission.

Guideline: If the product you are listing bears the brand or logo of a company, but it wasn't made or authorized by that company, don't sell it on eBay.

The sale of counterfeits and unauthorized replicas of branded products is unlawful and not permitted on eBay.

For more information, please visit the following Help pages:

To take the intellectual property tutorial, please visit:

eBay Policy Tutorial - VeRO

Please be aware that any additional violations of this policy may result in the suspension of your account. eBay understands that you may be concerned about this situation. We encourage you to contact True Religion Brand Jeans directly if you have any questions.

You can send an email to: trademark@truereligionbrandjeans.com

For more information on how eBay protects Intellectual Property, or for additional information if you believe that your listing has been removed as a result of an error or misidentification, please visit the following Help page:

The rights owner has created an About Me page that contains information to help you understand why removal of your listing was requested. For
more information about the rights owner, please go to:

For more information on why eBay may remove a listing, please visit:

Why eBay May Remove Your Listing

Please be assured that your listings have not been targeted in any way. Although there may be similar items currently listed on eBay, we review all listings that are reported to us by eBay members or Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) program participants. We rely on reports from our members to help maintain the safety and security of our Community. We encourage you to report any items by using the REPORT THIS ITEM button on the listing so we can quickly remove any other items that should be removed.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,

eBay Trust & Safety

Then I got the big gun email:

Dear seller,

Your eBay account has been suspended for a minimum of seven days due to a violation of the eBay Trademark Violation - Unauthorized Item policy. We suspended your account after carefully considering each violation and verifying that the correct action was taken.

All of your current listings have been removed from eBay. Any remaining fees that are on your account are due immediately. These fees will be charged using the billing method that you currently have on file.

You are not allowed to use eBay in any way during your suspension. Doing so may result in your permanent suspension. You're also not permitted to register a new account or use another existing account.

During your suspension, you also won't be able to do any of the following:
- Bid on items

- Leave or receive Feedback
- File for an Unpaid Item credit

Good Work

Firstly, well done on the reinstatement. The experience of others has been that you may well be able to continue selling without problems. Many accounts now appear to be under less scrutiny after a suspension.;) For me, I would go a little slower.

M-NYC 04-28-2008 09:37 AM

Anyone know what an MC169 Abuse Notice is??
The latest suspension notice from earlier today stated the following:
"MC169 NOTICE: eBay Registration Suspension - User Agreement - Abusing eBay - (userid)

Dear userid (userid@domain.com),

We're sorry to tell you that your eBay account was suspended because recent account activity has raised serious security concerns. We've taken this precaution to protect our members while we make sure that the activity doesn't cause harm -- however unintentionally -- to the eBay Community.

You can appeal this suspension. If, after reviewing your appeal, we're confident that this activity poses no risk to the Community, we'll be happy to reinstate your account. For information about how to appeal this suspension, please go to:

Suspended Account

Unfortunately, during the suspension you won't be able to use eBay in any way. This includes using another existing account or registering a new account.

Any outstanding selling fees are due immediately, and any amounts that you haven't previously disputed will be charged to the billing method currently on file.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,

eBay Trust & Safety"

Any input would be appreciated.

ebayaintstupid 04-28-2008 10:56 AM

You are getting linked to an existing Paypal account...

betcha it happpens shortly after you add the email to your Paypal or you add an email in your existing Paypal to the EBAY listing.

If you have had any EBAY accounts suspended that ever used that Paypal account, you cannot reuse that Paypal account for EBAY or you get linked.

You need to create a brand new Paypal account and go through getting limited, etc. etc. all over again. Nice huh?

It seems that the niche for an EBAY competitor is swelling huge. They just keep forcing out more and more good people along with the few percentage bad they weed out.

I wanted to pay my fees. I wanted to be a good citizen. I complied with every request they made.

And they would have kicked ass on funds they pissed away.

Bzzzt. Not good enough.

M-NYC 04-28-2008 07:15 PM

Yup, looks like I'll have to start the whole process all over again. They limited my first paypal account for no reason other than what I guessed was their best opportunity to freeze the largest amount of cash in my account for 6 months. I think their reason was something like "recent activity requires additional verification information." After faxing them every form of ID known to man and all types of statements, they still did absolutely nothing and I wasted many hours on the phone with all sorts of paypal monkeys. When the next limitation came, needless to say I did not even bother trying to contact them at all and I simply waited patiently for 6 months for my cash to be released, or I refunded buyers directly and asked for payment by some other means - which cost me money because some did not trust me after paypal's unwarranted actions.

A while after that, ebay started cancelling my auctions because powerful competitors did not want me getting a piece of their pie and they knew how to use ebay to their advantage. One even sent me an e-mail laughing ("HAHAHAHAHAHA") when my ebay account was terminated and my paypal account was frozen. I had been selling desktop and laptop computers with LEGAL, LICENSED WINDOWS even while there were huge ebay sellers listing piece of crap computers with illegal windows xp pro and office xp pro installed to jack up the price - and they got away with it. Meanwhile my auctions were cancelled... go figure.

The resulting chain reaction was probably worse for them than for me. How can fees be paid when your money is held hostage for no reason? How do you even know for sure that it will ever be returned?

frosty 05-05-2008 12:33 AM

PayPal, eBay question. Notice attached.

Hey There,

Just wondering if anyone got this before. My Account is already on a 30 day suspension for Feedback Manipulation which I did not commit, and now about 15 days later I got this notice.

Does that mean PayPal and eBay are gone, or just PayPal hates me right now?

Trust & Safety Phone support wasn't really sure.

Subject: A Message Regarding Your PayPal Account (KMM29008441xxxxxx) Received: May-04-08
From: eBay Customer Support Expires: Jun-03-08

Dear xxxxxxxx,

As part of our commitment to offering a safe transaction network for all
of our valued members, we regularly screen account activity. During one
of these screenings, we reviewed your account and determined that the
activity associated to your eBay or PayPal accounts poses an inherent
risk to the overall security of our network. Unfortunately, due to this
risk, we have determined that we are no longer able to offer the use of
our services to you.

Although you are no longer able to utilize PayPal services, you may
still log into your PayPal account to review the information associated
to your use of our services for a limited time.

In accordance with PayPal’s User Agreement, the balance of your PayPal
account will be held for 180 days to protect PayPal against the risk of
reversal stemming from buyer claims, chargebacks, or other reversal
rights that may have been assigned to a consumer outside of PayPal and
eBay’s policies. After the180-day period has passed, any remaining
funds will be available to you for withdrawal, less any additional
amounts owed to PayPal or eBay.

Additionally, eBay will charge any amounts you have not previously
disputed to the billing method currently on file and you will be
credited for any listings that were ended.

While we regret having to make this decision, please understand that the
decision was based on criteria set forth in the User Agreements for both
PayPal and eBay. You can view our User Agreements in their entirety by
using links located at the footer of each of our websites.

Please do not reply to this email, as this mailbox is not monitored and
you will not receive a response. If you seek further clarification
regarding your account access, please contact PayPal by visiting the
Help Center and clicking "Contact Us.”

We thank you for your prompt attention and cooperation with this matter.

MC071 FPA NOTICE: eBay Registration Suspension
We regret to inform you that your eBay account has been suspended due to concerns we have for the safety of the eBay community.

You may appeal the suspension by replying to this email.

Why have we suspended your account?

From experience we know that certain items and actions are more associated with fraudulent activity on eBay than others. As a precaution, we suspend an account if it gives us cause for concern. We then ask for more information from the member before we reinstate the account.

Please understand we're not accusing you of fraudulent behaviour. Our top priority is to ensure that eBay remains a safe and reputable place to buy and sell, so we'd just like to confirm some of the information you've given us.

An account suspension in these circumstances is covered under the eBay User Agreement, which you can read by copying this link into a new browser window:

Your User Agreement

During your suspension you are prohibited from using eBay in any way, including registering new accounts. Doing so may result in your permanent suspension. We have ended your open listings.

Please be advised that this suspension does not relieve you of your obligation to pay any fees that you may owe to eBay.

Thank you for your cooperation in this important matter.

Regards,

eBay Trust & Safety

imjustme 05-18-2008 04:06 PM
