Default My experience with a new account on ebay/paypal

Just some notes to let everyone know how my new account experience is going.

I started a new account a few weeks ago. Ebay and paypal, stealth accounts. Used Ally bank, it works great with mismatched names. Withdrew a LOT already no issues.

Started slow. Listed some stuff I've got laying around the house. Started listing a few of my main items (Lowe's coupons). No more than 3 per day. Got up to 20 or so listings in a week.

Ebay called me one day, and all they wanted to know was what my ebay ID was, and if I had listed some Lowe's coupons recently. I said yep, and that was that.

I sold some expensive computer parts, two transactions about $300 each. No issues. Made a deal off ebay to trade about $900 more with a guy... I made a mistake after I sent my invoice and he paid, and I had to refund his $900. I sent a new invoice for $600, and he paid that. Ring ring. Paypal on the phone. Oddly enough, they wanted to ask me about my coupon auctions... they wanted to know about my supplier. I explained that I collect them myself... via email, post offices, etc. I mentioned that I thought she was calling about the $900 in, $900 refund, then $600 in. And its only then that she asked me about it. I explained my inventory error and could only sell him 2/3rds what I thought I had. She thanked me, and all was good.

I've withdrawn a $800 batch, and a few smaller batches since my account opened. No limitations yet. I dont know if I've just been lucky or what. After I withdrew the $800 I facepalmed myself thinking, ****, thats too much! But that was 3 weeks ago and so far so good.

Since then I've paid $50 for an ebay store, so I can do listings for 5 cents each instead of 50 cents, and I have a lot of listings. Never got limited or had anyone inquire about the # of my listings. My feedback is over 30 now, good DSR's (4.9 I think) and all seems well.

Fingers crossed.

Just wanted to share my recent experience.

The most important thing you did was answer the phone when eBay called. If you had missed that call for any reason you would be dealing with an MC010 or MC169 suspension.

Ebay verification calls come from 801-545-1800. Plug this number into your cell phone so it shows "EBAY URGENT" in big letters. If you miss this call then things will get really annoying.

Exactly the number that called me. That number should be in a sticky somewhere, is it?
