Default Dongles (mobile broadband) in UK and use on multiple accounts...

So, after reading the book I’ve got the hang of most things I think…
Also, spent quite a while reading these forums and some bits I’m confused around (e.g. being truly stealth and dongles…)

So, am I correct in thinking that if I use a dongle, the IP will change every single time, and that it won’t be the same the 3% or so of times that it would be using other methods?
I.e. - do I still need to keep records of IP’s and worry about that if I’m using a dongle?

And what about phone tethering, would it be safer to just use a dongle or would it be OK to use an i-phone or similar on different accounts (i.e., could they in theory track that you are using the same phone handset to log into different accounts, even if the IP is different, such as looking at the phones IMEI or something?)
Thanks for the help in advance…

If you get a '3' dongle the IP changes everytime. And no they shouldn't be able to track you when using a different IP.

So thats EVERY single time theres a different IP, and there is no need to keep track of the IP's?

I would indeed be using '3'...other networks not an option.

yes I can confrim 3 has new ip upon disconnect, but always double check as it has been known to stick or not disconnect properly - rare but it happens, happens on broadband too..

Yep, always right down the IP that you last used on what account and the make sure before logging in that it's changed.

I also have a '3' dongle, and can indeed confirm what forumnmember says and that it changes every time. I even did a little test a few minutes ago by plugging/unplugging my dongle 4 times in the space of 5 minutrs, and all four times i had a different IP address.

Yep, 3's the best. It's good when it comes to price and speed too. So it's the all round best

Tethering is fine, your connecting device details (iPhone or whatever) is not passed on to eBay/PayPal. Only it's IP is read, so it's like you're at a coffee shop with some random IP or at a friend's house, etc.

Now if you connect directly using your iPhone, no laptop or computer in the mix then sure they know you're on an iPhone, etc.

So iPhone tethering is fine, it can be a pain sometimes, but it's fine.

Oh ok, I know v little about Amazon...

Isnt there a program somewhere that changes your mac address (mac spoofing?)? Surely somewhere theres a program that gives you a few different options which you can save, and revert through a few, so you can have a range of different accounts with one connection?

Im just wondering, whether as a precaution, I should also do this with ebay??
