So this 10 items limit is category specific. You can list as much as you want in low-risk categories, such as Antiques, but you can't list more than 10 items per month in the first 90 days in high-risk categories.

That is very true. My account is only a couple of weeks old but I have listed 30 so far.. though am in the antique/vintage section so very low risk of course...

LoopHole 01-18-2011 11:00 PM

Ive been hit with the " you have reached your selling limit for this month" from ebay. There was an option that says" request higher selling limits" has anyone tried doing that, does it work? Or does it just raise a red flag?

holymoly 01-19-2011 03:37 PM

After a while...my thing has been around 20 positive feedback they increase you up to 100.

imjustme 01-19-2011 06:02 PM

I've had an account with 2 negatives and a 97% positive feedback increased to at least 200 items after 90 days. Go figure.

2 negatives and still 97%. How many selling transactions did you do in 90 days?

I sold exactly 30, but also bought a lot.

Daga 01-20-2011 04:44 PM

right before eBay suspended my account they have placed 100 items, or 3000$ max limit, whichever came first. Then the email stated that if I show to be a good seller I can apply by responding to their email and see if they can raise my limit but I could not do it until it was 30 days from getting the email.
I know they hate to be rushed so be careful, but I think it is worth the shot to be applying for the ability to sell more.

Good Luck

liimey 01-21-2011 09:04 AM

Canada has the same limits

I just listed 20 items on a 6 month old account that I only had 4 fb on with no problems.

So thinking I was onto something I grabbed another account that I had not sold a thing on and listed 15 things with no problem.

Must have something to do with aged older accounts they let go?

Hmmm cant decide if its a good idea to apply for more bigger selling limits. Any opinions on this?

Yea, my opinion is why even bother contacting ebay and having them review your account? Opening new accounts is less risky then increasing your sales volume anyways.

Just my opinion and I'm by no means an expert. I've been stealth now for about a year and I still learn new tricks/tactics every week it seems.

jesseinkaron 01-22-2011 08:44 AM

I agree with Don Corleone ..

I hate talking to eBay

bansheezone 01-22-2011 06:22 PM

Created 4 accounts within the past 2 weeks, listed more then 10 items and a sales over $500.00 with no limitations. Items were listed on ebay motors?? I have 10 more to go so lets see what happens, also have not been limited for i.d verification. All accounts were made in 1 day and all were used right after creating a sellers account.

lakeman 01-22-2011 06:48 PM

It has been said that eBay motors does not have the 10 item a month limit. It's supposedly a lot easier to sell on.

jerseykat1 01-23-2011 10:57 AM

i just got a message stating that i can sell o items, out of 0 dollars per month on an account that has never sold anything on eBay. WTF? I even tried different categories and the same thing.

That may be true, but I think theres a whole lot of people that sell automotive parts...

bansheezone 01-23-2011 11:32 PM

I didnt know if it was posted figured I would let you guys know. Still creating accounts and selling with no limits so I guess motors is off the hook 100%

Sell4more2 01-24-2011 12:27 AM

Great information! Will test out soon as well! Thanks guys!

dvdvsuv 01-24-2011 10:22 AM

how many?

How many must you sell in the 3 months (as someone else mentioned) before they lift the limit? If you sell 3 in the 3 months will they lift?

I am from singapore and recently i have encountered a situation whereby as a new seller i am only allowed to sell 10 items (Active Listing + Item Sold). According to ebay, they would automatically increase the limits as we build up a good selling history.

This is kind of disastrous as not all buyers leave feedbacks and how can we survive just by selling 10 items? Anyone encounter the same thing? Any idea what to do with it?

I too got this limit and I am wondering how to get around it. The limit is 10 items per month or 500.00 which eer one comes first.

lakeman 01-24-2011 11:49 AM

The way around it is to use multiple accounts. If you use 10 accounts, there's 100 items a month right there.

naoru 01-25-2011 07:47 AM

no ebay motors allowed

hi
i tried to list in ebay motors as some members sugested after recheaing my 10 limits per months and i could not list

so im afraid no more than 10 items per month is possible
ebay or ebay motors

jesseinkaron 01-25-2011 09:23 AM

Like Lakeman says,

The easiest way around it is to use multiple accounts, there are some other tricks as well.

naoru 01-26-2011 10:47 AM

thanks for the link
though nothing new
problem is that seller with 3 feedbacks selling a product will get less than a seller with 100 fb selling the same product

this is why for me multiple accounts arent the best solution

bmwsouthside 01-26-2011 12:07 PM

Remember ebay/paypal rules change every day. They dont play fair and neither should you. They were increasing selling limits gradually as you sold items earlier this month. This has stopped from what I see.
You can increase your chances if you use other categories to sell. Explore other categories and sell in categories that are not popular. The buyers will find your item if thats what they are looking for. rely on listing details in the title and drop down menus. it works.
For instance, list a polo shirt in antique horse section..get the idea? lol

naoru 01-26-2011 12:35 PM

bmwsouthside
thing is that the 10 rules limit is not category based
tried listing in ebay motos but couldnt
ill share my 5 cents with you guys
you may list up to 16 items per month by using tabs in your browser and send 10 requests at a time

che2009 01-28-2011 12:29 PM

It's been 3 months & 5 days since my first item sold. I have 33 selling feedbacks... all positive. But when I try to list something, I'm still hit with the 10 items every 30 days message and cannot list anything. Those that have had their limits lifted can you please shed some light. Will it be lifted on Feb 1st?

Paypal_Victim 01-28-2011 08:28 PM

does it help if we were to purchase items?
i think we need a free fb thread or something..

craigoaus 01-28-2011 09:19 PM

a fb thread would be handy, getting the fb 'healthy' is my greatest problem

bork_bork 01-29-2011 06:21 PM

I have this too on my new stealth account. Not a big deal for me because I have other acounts but I figure I'll put up 10 items from around the house every month and let it grow.

holymoly 01-29-2011 06:57 PM

eBay has gotten to the point where everyone starts on the same level and they are trying to supress the larger suppliers now.

I have not had a limit yet. Been listing on 8 seller accounts with well over 1000.00 each in sales and 12-15 items. :mod: not sure why I am having such good luck but I keep on making more accounts every week just in case. I list right after I create the account with 10-12 items with a 3 day duration.

bronwyn 01-31-2011 07:01 PM

Is it safe to list 10 items right after you create an account? I thought that we should list slowly. I have newly created stealth accounts and I'm confused whether to start listing already. But I would love to do what you are doing.

bmwsouthside 02-01-2011 12:41 PM

things have changed. when they first introduced the 10 item rule they were gradually increasing limits as you received POSITIVE FEEDBACK. This DOES NOT apply anymore. Its very difficult to get feedback from buyers these days anyway. Ebay employees tell buyers that feedback is OPTIONAL but yet we CANT get paid without Potive FEEDBACK INMOST CASES. EBAY SUCKS.
Create more accounts and if you stay away from vero (name brand) you can prosper.
if you list name brand items you will still be looked at closer and limited at some point soon because you are more high risk in their eyes.
im creating new accounts at all times. More importantly selling on other venues and away from ebay. I love cash instead of paypal. Your local consignment stores are doing well because of the economy. try them. screw paypal and ebay. also try flea markets. it works.

I normally stay around 2-3 items per day but I havent had any issues since the 10 item rule. They figure you cant do too much damage with just 10 items anyway Im guessing.

bmwsouthside 02-01-2011 12:47 PM

yes it helps if you buy something. build feedback anyway you can...but sell your first item so you can get the ball rolling and look like a seller.

What is required to lift this in the verifcation part? Also does this go away after a few solid months with good feedback, or will you have to request it?

I have been lucky enough to sell a few items with no limits but then after few I make a few hundred dollars I get the limits. how the heck did you accomplish that?
you really are invisible to them..lol

incniu 02-03-2011 10:22 PM

my account is more about 100 days old; still have 100 or $5000 limit.

When the hell will Ebay remove the limit??

The ebay site says account limit will be removed after 90 day; i have 100% feedback.
