It really depends on how you manage your account. If you take it slow and don't try selling lots of high risk items then it can last at least a year or longer. So there is no correct answer because everybody runs their business models differently. Best of luck to you!

There is no real "average" - you do what you can

Agreed theres no average, one persons average could be 5 mins while the others average could be 3 years, just a matter of knowing what to do and how to do it.

I sell in a couple of categories with a many stealth accounts.

Categories:

1. DVD Media - I use 2 main accounts = sell 20-50 on each a month (Boxed sets)

2. Super high risk vero - I have 1 main account and make 5 new a week and trash the 5 new ones every time i have to pay fees = sell 10-20 a month on disposable accounts and 5-10 on main account (Designer goods) ranging above $400

3. Main Main Main account - Mostly random stuff i use it to buy also

----- Life

Category (1) been going strong since january 2008
Category (2) Main account has been going strong since late 2009 proccessed over 100k
Category (2) Disposable accounts, well they last until eBay kills them about 1 month

typo, Red doubled up on category.

For me, I dont call them 'stealth' accounts. They are workable, money-makers and by co-incidence stealth. They get the same love, care and attention as I gave the real ones killed by ebay.
To a degree, it's a silly label. It clouds your judgement on how to use them to make money.
We are doing ebay for money not fun

The reason i put 2 (2) categories is because i use dispossable and 1 main account for the same categorie which is the desginer goods categorie. sorry if it sounds complicated
