Default what is a Safe amount of bank accounts in the UK?

At what point do you need to worry about the amount of bank accounts any one person could have? For example say i had 30 banks accounts on my name? Is this too much? Just thinking ahead i do not want to get looked into if you know what i mean.

For example Lets say i'd be withdrawing £200 every 2-3 weeks into each would this raise flags somewhere in the system. i know each bank is a separate institution that don't share info but every current account goes on credit report so they know many account were have.

I'm in the USA, as you can see, but IMO 30 bank accounts is just way to much ,and ridiculous. I would only go up to 4-6 bank accounts (1 checking, 1 saving per bank), no more than 10 max. I know for a fact others are way past me, and that's just taking it to far.

I wouldn't have 30 bank accounts at one bank... That's a big red flag.. Can you imagine the personal banker/bank teller that has to scroll through all of that? No doubt they'll place a nice little note on your account.

Dont confuse yourself by saying 'goes on your credit report'. A notation goes on a credit report IF monies are lent, if you take a mortage. Having a current account (at this point in the UK) does not make a hard mark on your credit file.
What you do is pick a couple of banks that allow you more than one account. And in the UK there are enough banks that let you do just that

This would be 30 bank accounts over 15 different branches, not the one bank.

I was also wondering the same thing, Im sure you might have heard of Secure Trust Bank, they are a company that you pay monthly for and I am sure you can have as much accounts as you want.

Thats what i thought. I opened one. Worked fine. Applied for another two, no problems. Got a letter yesterday stating; As of the 23 of December 2010, secure trust no longer offer more than one account per person. I slept in their. But i still got ONE from them. So the other two i opened were closed down and setup money refunded. DAMIT

That sucks... I was going to recommend Bank of America but noticed your flag is in United Kingdom. I was wrong... some banks don't care how many accounts you have with them as long as they have $$$ in them.

secure trust bank have changed their requirements. Seems too many customers have been trying to have multiple accounts. Even to the point of refunding the fees to set up the accounts.

Ah well, a good thing got overdone
