Default How to ask feedback from a buyer?

I know this is a silly question but it's something I have trouble with. What is a good way to ask for feedback from a buyer without seeming like "harassing" the buyer?

Well......

There are many ways to this "game",
you can just beat around the bush and be plastic and all and say,
"Hello there, I see that the item I sent you has arrived!
I hope you are satisfied with it, and are happy with it.
Please do remember to leave us Positive (up to you if you wana specify the feedback
to be positive, but I'd rather just generally say "feedback" in order to prevent
the buyer from reporting us and saying harassment) Feedback,
and we will do the same for you (its better to leave feedback for the buyer,
after they have left feedback for you first as a seller, that way there is an incentive
for them to leave you feedback, so that they get feedback in return,
because buyers need feedback as much as sellers do).

Or you can be brash, brave and bold and say;
"Hey, I see that you have received your item. Great, that completes our transaction.
Now just one more thing the both of us need to take of. You need to leave me feedback to rate our deal, and I'll do the same to you in rating you as a buyer. Do this, and both of us come out happy and alive. If not.....(this is optional) I am gonna **** your *** till you **** out of your *******. You got it?

And there ya go.

But seriously,
just be kind and nice to buyer and try to encourage him to leave feedback
as a way of saying "thanks" to you as a seller and letting you know,
that he appreciates your quality service.

It's easy, if you know how to be diplomatic with a buyer, even with those
buyers who just aren't "sociable" or "civilized".

I just write a personal note to them on the receipt-something like

Thanks so much for your order. If any concerns or issues arise, please let me know and I'll take care of it immediately.
Then towards the bottom where it has the words about feedback, I write underneath it

"If you are able to leave me feedback, I would greatly appreciate it"

But that is the second part. Prior to this I upgrade maybe 40% or so of orders and also let them know in a separate email I send under additional information

Hello "insert name" Thanks so much for your order. I paid extra to have it sent 2-3 day mail so it should arrive much faster. Please let me know if any issues or problems arise and I'll take care of it immediately.

Thanks again ~

M.

So far out of 200 transactions I have not one a neutral or negative, and everyone even if I made a mistake has been gracious. Well except one San Francisco Scammer, and he won't likely leave bad feedback because he is afraid of legal trouble

I usually send $5 extra too for their trouble if it is my mistake

So far I have one out of four people leaving feedback. But I know some here have a higher feedback rate than I do, I think some people send extra little gifts

I have always taken this sort of approach:

I see that XYZ item was delivered to you last week. Is something wrong with it? I noticed you haven't left me positive feedback on ebay and I wanted to make sure you were 100% happy with your purchase. If not, please let me know right away and I'll make things right. If everything is good, please leave me positive feedback. Thanks!

For eb ay, I stopped writing reminders and what not - key is volume + good product will eventually build up feedback. Have to be patient. The last post is a friendly reminder though so that's good.

Don't ask. From what I've learned it can lead to many problems. The person could hit you with low DSR or something. At the moment I get left around 250 a month and I'm doing about 650 transactions on an account. I don't pressure people to leave feedback.

you are right, better not to ask. Once I did, buyer accused me of harrasment, left negative a ruined perfectly good account ...I don't ask for feedback any more,

LoL what kind of buyers do you all have? I hardly come across "insane" buyers, I've never heard of a buyer flipping out over requesting fb lol that's just ludicrous. I would have that fb removed.

It happened to me only one time, but one time too many.. BTW I asked EBay to remove the negative, but they directed me to Ebay chat to resolve the issue and I didn't want to talk to them for obvious reasons...
