Why do people pay for boxes?

As far as I know they only have the free boxes for Priority and Express mail.

Of course, some sellers turn these inside-out and use them for regular mail, but that is a violation of federal law and it just makes you look bad to your customers.

All the boxes from the post office, if you turn them inside out, have Priority or Express mail all over it. I just buy mine online, .20-.35 cents a box!

I order my priorty boxes for free on ebay then purchase bubble wrap envelopes, my favorite.

I go to Bed Bath and Beyond, Michaels, Ross Stores, Staples, etc, and go through the cardboard dumpster in the back of the store, and get all the shipping boxes that I need. Then I buy the big roll of bubble wrap at Office max for 15$, and Im good to go. No need to pay for boxes, when you can get them for free.

I've sold a ton of items on Amazon I got for free out of the dumpster, still sealed in packages.

You can get almost anything. If you go to the office supply stores like Office Depot, Office Max, and Staples, you would be shocked to see what they throw out. Over the last few years I've gotten two top of the line laser printers, a FAX machine, phones, cables, printer ink cartridges, envelopes, file cabinets, book cases, and tons of office supplies. Apperently they throw out most of the stuff people return, and alot of the display items are trown away when new updated equipment comes in. Once they put it in the dumpster, it is public domain, and your free to help yourself. Technically you are not allowed to trespass, but they are pretty libral with this policy, and if they see you in the garbage, they will just tell you to get lost.

Nice find - I heard dumpster diving can yield nice stuff but I just have not done this. At least some one is capitalizing - props.

I usually just get boxes from local 7/11s and supermarkets - sometimes use old cereal boxes and what not ha

Having the right sized packaging for the items you sell can save you a ton of money on shipping costs, packing materials, and even time. New boxes look much more professional as well and I believe gets higher feedback and DSR ratings.

The savings on shipping cost is especially important for UPS/Fedex because of their dimensional weight billing. Time is saved because it is easier to use the same exact box to package the same exact product over and over again. With new boxes you don't have to peel off old labels, mark stuff out, etc.

So far I've sold (from Dollartree) some Disney Socks, Disney Watches, Plastic Bags 10-15 per pack that are green and prevent Veges from rotting, Valentines, Xmas Stuff, holiday stuff (except you have to keep it for a year) Bunch of religious cards, some food, etc...Security Alarms. Little games.

The Disney socks I had to bleach, only used a little then set them out they still had the packaging on it but some had a tint of black and it came off.

CRV is good, we got a bunch of holiday stuff there last weekend. Wrapping paper, little gifts, etc...

I think that is it so far. But I haven't been back there to get boxes for a long time because the Dollartree store gives them to me now. After Valentines Day, I will resume. The Cops just stop and ask what are you doing. But I always offer them some of my stuff, a few times they said yes but hide it by that tree so I can get it after work. They love free stuff, the Gas stations give them free coffee. I don't usually grab the food but know people who do and say it is still good

Yes. Box stores have policies so I think you have to learn which stores to go to. Some of their displays they toss out and can be worth a ton on Ebay
