Ebay has finally stepped their greed level up to the max!

So I just got an e-mail today from ebay talking about the new changes starting April 19th. I'm sure you'll all see it. I guess ebay is gonna be including shipping costs in the Final Value Fees!!! Are you freakin kidding me?! The Final Value Fees aren't high enough ALREADY?!!! **** YOU EBAY!

BiN4RY 03-15-2011 12:45 PM

They're doing it because of sellers are constantly abusing the shipping fees by hiding additional price of the item there.

userOFnames 03-15-2011 12:59 PM

It used to be easy to see the shipping cost of an item before ebay changed the whole format of their site. All ebay ever does is change for the worst. Constantly fixing shyt that doesn't need to be.

Imakemoney 03-15-2011 01:07 PM

Is this just for the US?

cb3 03-15-2011 01:16 PM

lets say you sell something for $10 and the actual shipping is $40 that you charge the buyer, you will actually be close to losing money for selling it on ebay. I am seriously asking myself why the hell am I still selling on ebay. I guess I must be completely insane.

Imback2010 03-15-2011 01:45 PM

Would they give you a label also? I dont get it.

yotano211 03-15-2011 01:45 PM

I sometimes do the same when I am selling hard drives. I would hide some of the cost in the shipping but I cant do that anymore. Also look at the max they will charge you for Auction Style listings, the old max was $55, its not $100 even. They almost doubled it.

And they said they wanted to promoted low shipping rates, bull ****.

userOFnames 03-15-2011 03:03 PM

MAYBE I could understand them forcing sellers to charge the ACTUAL shipping cost. Maybe force the shipping calculator on every listing. But how can they collect fees on shipping which was purchased through the USPS etc? Last time I checked, ebay isn't the ****ing postal service!

I was going to ask the same. I hope it doesn't come over here. I have not had any emails saying so and there is nothing on the uk latest info bit on eb, so maybe not.

Gman91189 03-15-2011 08:02 PM

How bout ya'll state the actual email/ fees that are goin to be increased, details details details, cant start a forum with no back ground, they're increasing it, but are we getting a return? like shipping labels or something?

inthezone 03-15-2011 08:11 PM

Here are the details.

http://announcements.ebay.com/2011/0...seller-update/

Doesn't ebay realize that this is going to back fire on them and the buyers? Instead of offering free or low shipping fees, now I have to increase my shipping fee to actually make money. How dumb, how stupid is this? What do you want from my shipping and handling fees? Ebay doesn't provide free transportation to the Post Office, ebay doesnt purchase my shipping materials for me. WTF is going on with this piece of s*** company?

Gman91189 03-15-2011 08:37 PM

hmmm, ya that shyt deff gon back fire, just goin to make ppl charge %9 more for shipping lol

gmata2101 03-15-2011 09:47 PM

They are loosing money thats why there doubling up. & they getting sued alot more.

djpaulc 03-16-2011 11:05 AM

is legally?

motorfinger 03-16-2011 11:25 AM

Am goin here

cubfan11 03-16-2011 11:26 AM

It kind of looks like they are lowering the final value fees % to offset including shipping fees in the total. I'm not standing up for eb ay, just want everyone on here feel a little better about this...I'm sure it is intended for eb ay to make more money either way.

Of course, pp has been including everything dime we get in their fees...I Hate the evil monsters!!

doughboykilla 03-16-2011 11:30 AM

i know why there doing this. like i went on ebay to buy a iphone4 i seen it for $100 buy it now and $500 s/h so when that item sold ebay got fees for $100 instead of $600.

Alps_a somewhatlegend 03-16-2011 01:14 PM

UK - I got the email today... there is a message on their site about it with the prices and changes etc. - bummer

You know... they made a rule not so long ago in uk that in certain categories there was a max you could charge for postage.... that kind of sorted the high postage problem for them (not for me as I have big heavy vogue mags costing 4 quid to post and max I can charge is 2.75 - some hairbrained idea eb staff), so I personally feel eb is pulling a fast one (another hairbrained idea) and trying to recuperate (thanks spellchecker) the money they have lost due to loss of sellers due to their many rules - a lot of big seller have been banned and they bought big money in......

In my simple brain it makes no sense and it sounds illegal in what they are doing - ie. charging fees on postage!

Its all crazy out there... just gotta keep playing the game I suppose and keep some cash saved for a rainy day

djpaulc 03-16-2011 01:58 PM

15% is very high. In Argentina only pay 7% including feed

inthezone 03-16-2011 08:41 PM

Place a cap on certain categories, but do not f up my sales because some idiot is charging too much on shipping. Warn them or something, but this is ridiculous. There's a reason why it is called shipping and handling. God!!!

inthezone 03-21-2011 01:01 PM

ehh I was just browsing some cameras today and came across this listing. These are the type of sellers that make it really hard for the honest sellers. Check out his shipping cost. What a douche!

Imakemoney 03-21-2011 01:22 PM
