Well, not just a JS was required, but ActiveX as well. But who cares, what was like 10 years ago, and only in IE.

Well that might have been more of a hopeful comment of mine rather than one with naoiled on conviction rsot. Ceratainly no signs that this situation is likely to change in the foreseeable future might have been a better way of putting Ugo on my part I would say now, definatlely not one for people to be concerned about their the extent that previous commenters on this thread have suggested.

Wow I am glad I read this about apps. So using Auctiva *possibly* might give ebay access to my mac address? This is a big blow as I just setup my auctiva today and getting ready to buy an account from a seller here.

If I want to use auctiva, and any other 3rd party app, I would basically need to get a new computer and router since the ones I am using have been linked to a previously banned account?

The only way your MAC address can be exposed is if you run web applets like ActiveX and Java Applets. These applets requires your explicit permissions to run anyways, so if you don't run any of them (Which I don't recall eBay or Auctivia having any in the first place), then you're fine.
