IP Address and my AppleMac

I have an Apple Mac and use Safari as a Browser and I have A BT Home Hub, I checked on IPBurger for my IP address, I made a note of it, I turned off my Home Hub, went out for an hour...........when I got back, I turned my Hub back on, and when I checked on IPBurger I had a New IP address. Does this mean that I have a Dynamic IP Address, and if I switch my Hub on and off this will result in my IP address changing. Is this sufficient for my stealth account, or will I need to sort out anything else ie. My Media Access Control address as regards IP tracking? I have just received the stealth guide which I am reading through.....are there any fellow Apple Mac Users who can give me any advice Re: Stealth on a Mac? And one question for anyone to answer.....what does it mean in the Other Internet Providers section of the Guide when it states :- I DO NOT recommend the usage of ANY proxy service?

1. If you have turned off your hub and turned back on with new IP received, yes it is likely dynamic.

2. Proxy service means things like VPN which is a virtual network - bypassing your own IP for other assigned IP.

I have not used AppleMAC for this purpose so other folx will chime in later

This means that you have a dynamic IP. You should just restart the Home Hub and should have a new IP address when it boots back up. I was using BT and had an diff IP in seconds everytime I restarted.

Also, if you got into your router settings, you can restart your device from your computer. Makes life easier!

Enter this into your address bar for router settings: 192.168.0.1

are all BT's packages dynamic?

Only some routers uses this address to access its control panel. The default gateway IP for BT home hub is 192.168.1.254

Anytime you need to change your ip you can


Turn off and back on after 15 seconds odd.... or
Press the reset button on you actual home hub and wait for it to reset.... or

my personal preference (lazy way saves getting up!).... goto this link

and click disconnect and then click connect and job done


Of course, as always, before logging into any account, check the ip is all good to go
