Okay....How about this. The SSN is ready if perhaps I need it. Please keep in mind that I will NEVER exceed the 20K limit for tax purposes and poses no threat to the holder of the SSN.

Would it advisable to just NOT provide any SSN at all until it is asked for.? Apparently you DO NOT get Limited, but only Blocked. And when you provide the SSN, then your funds may flow as they did before.
Does anyone agree?

Thank you very much again!

If you would prefer to be stealth longer hold out for them to ask. They only due a limitation if it came down to it anyway. And when you provide it they instantly open it as it was prior. A couple weeks later though if you info doesnt match up then it gets locked up again. They open it instantly and send it to review for some reason.

I received an email from paypal two weeks ago asking for my tax id. As others I haven't listed 200 items neither reached the 20k. What do you think, should I abandon this account until next year an this tax id request will disappear or sell as many items as I can before it dies?
One more question: is this 200-item, 20k limit for a calendar year or for a year which counts from the day the first item was sold?
thank you!

This is a calendar year. It works on the IRS fiscal year not on a Paypal timeline.

Yes calendar year for sure. Has nothing to do with paypal.

Also, I have a feeling all the accounts people are letting go and think they are going to be fresh next year may not happen. I think they will still be limited until they post it.

They know what people are doing and the IRS wont let it happen very long. This year is a learning year for the IRS. Things WILL change soon. Not sure how long but they will make drastic changes to upcoming years.

Thanks for the info doughboy! That's good to know! They (pp) say you need to meet both criteria, but...it seems one is suffice for some and not others.?.?
Thanks!

Very good question to ask! Are we speaking of January 1st to December 31st as a fiscal year? Or when the first item was sold as being the first day? Thank you!
