Default Weird Paypal case

To protect you from problematic transactions, we sometimes request
additional information about PayPal payments.

We need more information about this transaction. Please log in to your
PayPal account, click the "Resolution Center"tab, and provide more
information by 12/10/2011.

We recommend that you not ship the item until our investigation is
complete. If you've already shipped the item, please log in and let us know
where you shipped it.

We have placed a temporary hold on the funds until we complete our
investigation.

Has anyone ever gotten this before? Its definitely the first one for me. It says they need information from me but when i log in and click the case there is no option that allows me to provide anything. And it says its being reviewed by pp. Any idea what i can be? I haven't even shipped the item yet.

Be prepared to lose your money and your item if you don't have tracking info.

I've had it a couple of times. After 36 hours I refunded the customer and then sent an Email to Paypal stating that I couldn't offer 24 hour delivery if they were going to do this. Got a phone call with loads of apologies and suggested I asked my customer to pay again.

I told them the customer had paid me direct with a credit card - they seemed quite shocked. I don't know if that did anything but I haven't had it since.

Not weird at all, this always indicates that the buyer's account is having issues.

Agreed.

Time to look at your settings for what you are listing.

Block the usual suspects ( nil to 5 feedback.)
No overseas (if feasible)
Immediated payment.

Take the steps to control your own money and not get these nerve rackers from paypal

Thanks for the replies everyone. I suspected that this was a problem with the buyers account but just wanted to make sure.

In my instance the buyer rang Paypal and said 'what's going on?'

PP said there were no problems - so there was no problem with his account and no problem with mine - I should say this was not an EB transaction
