| | | mississippighost | 02-10-2012 10:33 AM | I got this a couple of days ago with suntrust. However, not with another one a couple weeks ago. This is the only time I have run into this. Considering this thread is a couple of months old, did anyone get limited for names not matching up as a result? My last names are the same, but not the first names. |
| clapclap | 02-10-2012 02:59 PM | Please do TLSunny i have just opened another account today also And would like to see if this has hit the UK.
We need to stop flapping about this and look for a solution. There is no doubt in my mind EB and PP are watching us on here and laughing.
One step ahead at all times. |
| BigCJ | 02-10-2012 04:16 PM | I got hit with it on tuesday. They limited the account within one day of the account trying to be verified. my name is pretty unique though. So they saw it right away. It a pretty sneaky tactic on their part. |
| clapclap | 02-10-2012 04:36 PM | Very sneaky..can anyone confirm if this is going to be a problem..i just hope this is going to be something that is 'over the pond' but no doubt will come our way evetually. im already thinking of a solution..
i think part of the solution is to stop being so open on these forums and just keep the info we share to what is in the stealth guide. |
| FandangoKango | 02-10-2012 06:52 PM | They could easily buy the stealth guide and are the deposits going back into the paypal account or what exactly? |

Hers was months ago not recent.
Things are OK at this point with the UK so dont panic :peace: |
| degsey69 | 02-10-2012 08:09 PM | I verified a new paypal account today and they put im $0.01 and $0.11 and then immediately took it out.
Dont forget the banking system is different in each country, its easier here for people to take money out once you set up payments to somebody.
For example in the UK they can not do it unlesss you agree to a variable direct debit which when I was operating over there you did not, so probaly UK accounts are protected. Here in the US once you allow somebody to put money into your account you also authorise them to be able to take money out at will. Sometimes you have to close an account if a company keeps taking money out even when told not to and the bank can not stop it because the account holder authorised it. |
| GreenBean | 02-10-2012 08:14 PM | Which bank, degsey? :spy: |
| Omgoozle | 02-11-2012 01:59 AM | |
| HurricaneHuntr | 02-11-2012 08:22 AM | PNC bank is one that they debit back from, but anyway it hasn't affected any account thus far for me. I've sent echecks as i said before.. They either are verifying that it can be debited from.. OR all these "verify banks deposits" are costing ebay money in the long run... .40 cents will add up when you do it a million times..So maybe they want their money back! |
| degsey69 | 02-11-2012 08:27 AM | The US bank they debit back from was Branch Banking and Trust they use ACH debit and credit system as all US banks do. |
| FandangoKango | 02-11-2012 11:46 AM | When they debit the money back from the bank account does it go to the paypal account or no? |
| mississippighost | 02-11-2012 12:25 PM | it did not on mine, but (knock on wood) nothing has been said about it either...no emails stating they couldn't match names or anything and this was done on the 8th... |
| xxxhustlerxxx | 02-11-2012 12:28 PM | no they dont put it back in the paypal. they take it back out your bank. people are thinking its to find out who you really are. my opinion is that they take it back as its there money (a way to save money, and cut costs). but you never know. they may be doing it to catch stealthers. only time will tell. |
| bansheezone | 02-11-2012 04:27 PM | I dont see instant confirm either as a option at the moment, not good..:rip:
I got forced into deposits to my bank that I added. All that I did was attempt to instantly verify my bank info, but it was not like how it was before and it did say 1-3 min to process then I was taken to confirm bank deposits which I did not opt for.:surrender: |

| accutinting | 02-11-2012 10:42 PM | Yeah back to paypal its there money not like card verification where they actually take your money |
| lhall5422 | 02-12-2012 01:04 AM | I had that happen where they debited back the small deposits. I used regions checking acct for one stealth acct then tried to use the savings acct for another stealth acct and they returned the deposits (regions that is). I think it's just the bank. I opened and used another checking at a different bank now and am waiting. Will post my results Monday. |

edit: the bank i used allows me to change my access code, so i did that after i confirmed the account. this way i dont think i will get linked when i try to do this again with a different account number from the same bank on a different stealth |
| NoneOther | 02-14-2012 11:23 AM | Test transactions There seems to be a new procedure taking place with financial institutions verifying bank accounts using small deposits to do so.
I have recently had this happen with p/p, virgin money, google and nochex where all of them first try what they refer to as a test transaction before actually making the deposits. These test transactions will temporarily hold the funds but are normally reversed within 24 - 48 hours.
As far as I know there is no actual debit transaction takes place on the account, only fund holding. As it is later reversed cancelled it appears on a statement like a regular debit but it's not.
I had this confirmed in an email from Nochex who advised that it would happen and that it was normal. |

That is old news and has happened in the past. This is a new occurrence where small amounts are actually being debited. |
| bansheezone | 02-15-2012 07:47 PM | no limitations as of yet, 5 accounts with the debit. |
| lhall5422 | 02-18-2012 08:00 PM | small deposits and 1 debit So my other stealth, when I checked for the deposits, they were there .... with a debit following right behind equal to the two small deposits ... typed in the code and was verified ... haven't heard anything from PayPal. I haven't bought anything from eBay yet so I guess I will see... I have however, verified a vanilla visa after I verified the checking. So far so good. | | All times are GMT -5.
