IP address help

i am noob at IT stuff

ok so after reading the stealthbook regarding the IP address,heres my current situation

I have a desktop and a laptop. Desktop[far from my router] is linked to router, for laptop its been link to router too but i can direct link to modem using ethernet cable.

so using the book's guide I decided to use my laptop to do it,here are the some of the things i need to know.


using laptop direct link to modem using ethernet cable
1) if i change the IP address using ipconfig/renew ,does it affect my Desktop internet connection?

2) The book doesnt mention about changing to old IP address

example:

account 1 IP address X.X.X
account 2 IP address Y.Y.Y

since my current IP address is Y.Y.Y,how can i change back to X.X.X and vice versa??

To change to old IP (assuming your modem cycles), you have to keep resetting the modem until you capture the old IP.

Searching the forums yields a lot of answers too.

You're pretty far off... You need to do more research. Try accessing the MAC address of your router to change your IP.

i am not gonna use my router for the stealth thing,i gonna just connect my laptop to my modem using ethernet cable.

so if i login a stealth account with multiple different IP ,paypal wont suspect me and limit my account?? Or i have to renew my IP till i got the 1 which i used to register the paypal acc

Multiple IPs is not an issue

Keep all cookies and flashy dealies up per account - I have logged with diff IPs without issue so far.
