Default Quick bank question

Just opened up a savings/checking account and i have noticed that the routing number is the same for both savings and checking account. Just wondering if that matters and if it could link 2 accounts. I never really paid attention to this before.

Haha thanks. I consider myself pretty well educated but i do ask some stupid questions sometimes

Another thing. Wouldn't pp find it a little shady if lets say they have 20 accounts in the same state going to the same routing number???? Couldn't this be a possible way of linking/causing a red flag?

question - you get 9 digits divided in to 2 parts, what are they called? routing is a long number, explain the differences

It is possible only if you did it all on one day but pp does about 350 millions dollars a day in transactions so it's not likely of 20 accounts will get linked IMO

Hmm....I've read this somewhere before.Routing Transit Number (RTN) springs to mind when you think of the 9 digit code.

If I've understood this correctly, the bank company name is identified in the 5-8 digit range & the this includes a regional prefix indicating the metropolitan area &/or state.

EDITS: oge responded just as I was typing this up.

Routing transit number is not something to worry about - millions of folx have the same routing number but different account numbers.
