Fact is, I have large goodwills in every direction from my home and all of them have some great stuff 90% of the time.

If people were hired to check items no way would a nice blackberry get through and marked for 19.99.

I hit the yard sales as well. I have a ton of those around me year around.

No no. not that stuff. Thats minor compared to what comes in. Purple label ralph lauren dresses for $3k. donated.

Cayman gator/Croc boots that they would sell for $20 in a thrift store. SEll online at Goodwill for $1600.00, Donated

Certain golf shoes, upwards of $600.00 Donated

Stuff like that is what I am talking about. There is some stuff but the larger ones like goodwill have specialists. Its well known, they hire all the time for those jobs.

Its just to maximize their profit so they can use it for what they use it for.

It would really be stupid to put this stuff in a store and put $20 on them.

I agree but most of the goodwills around me have people who seem to not care but also have little to no knowledge about anything. Ask them a question and they look at you like "what in the hell are you asking".

I asked once if the items come in are priced here or at the distribution centers and she told me that this stores item all get priced by a specialist in the backroom. But told me some larger goodwills move so much stuff they have items priced before they get to the store.

I have passed my idea onto a nephew of mine in another state and he said his local goodwill had to take out the seats at the front because people were hanging out all day and taking naps waiting for more items to come out.

He send a text a few days ago that he found a new in box American Flyer train set for 10.00. How in the heck did someone miss that one is beyond me as most adults know trains and American Flyer.

Too many people already doing the same thing here. We have tons of people driving around at night befeore trash day too. Its almost a given that anything half decent in the trash or stuff that can be scrapped is gone real fast.

It all started around 2006 ish when everyone was down around here...

Great though if in an area that not too much competition..

I think it all depends on where u live to get the good deals. here the goodwill and Salvation Army is junk they have junk here that was once good then was trashed then was found and then was donated They should call it the 3rd time around store.

Are local dump gets all kinda goodys my firends dad got all kinda stuff there and they fianly stoped letting people go there and told him they was opening a dump resell store I dont see how that would be sanitary but thats what they told him but i think it was just a excuses to make him leave. A good name for such a store would be Trashly Treasure's

Looking on craiglist last night I just scored a major purchase today.

I found something on CL and used terapeak to see what it was going for.

I about fell of the chair.

I could not wait until 9 am to call the seller.

Called and told him I was interested, got his address, went to the GPS and on my way I went.

When I got there this person had two of these scores. He said he wanted to list them one at a time. I asked if he would sell me them both and he said sure it will save me the hassle of selling the second one.

He sold me these items for 50.00 bucks for the pair.

The last one sold on ebay for 1150.00.

I listed one tonight on ebay starting at 0.99 and it has already hit 300.00 with 26 bids. Once the Super Bowl was over this thing went up quick.

So another way to find items looking on CL, using terapeak to research them and make some money.

Those of you who know phones need to be doing this as I seen an add put up tonight for an iphone 3 32gb for 275.00 with accessories. I see they sell anywhere from 400.00 to 700.00. I do not know phones but know this would be a good re sell item for ebay. I will call them in the morning for sure.

Still dont mean those people. Goodwill and a few others have a VERY large warehouses like huge walmart stores that trucks deliver to all day and night. The trucks come from other stores and donation boxes.

The store employees are just low paid employees. Nothing special.

The large facilities is what I mean. They showcased a similar site on the show called. "Drescue me"
I think thats what it was called. That lady goes there and buys dresses in bulk.

We have stores here that when you see something really good and ask about it. THey say its not for sale. How is that?

I am big into MMA and saw a huge banner on the wall for a past event. I asked about it and they said "not for sale". that has happened 3 times in the last year now when I find something I know I can make a killing on.

Hey car boots have some weight and the scrappers would eat those up.

They even had to pass a new law on stealing man hole covers as the scrapper were taken them right off the road and taking them to the scrap yard.

I love box lots at auctions. Always a surprise in them.

Oversized 3 car garage is full. I do not bring any used items into my house.

Inventory turns over fast. I do not keep items for long as I turn them over as fast as I can and move onto new items.

I do not have an item long enough to collect dust.

I dont have a car, it would be useless to own one.

We have a family van which I used lidded totes to put things in and wont put anything that needs cleaning in it. We have a large cargo van for all the larger items and to go to auctions, estate sales, yard sales storage sales etc.

Noticeable to who? No one goes into my garage if that is what you mean? When I have the garage door up which is pretty much year around and a neighbor appears to be nosy I just close it.

I am a well oiled organizer and wont allow items to clutter up my home.

And I have a 20x30 storage shed for those items I do not want to bring home such as small appliances, chain saws, furniture I re sell on CL etc.

I mean noticeable for the ones that live there including yourself. I've been to a house once and could totally tell that they were into thrift store business. I guess as long as you don't let it into your house and keep it in the garage it might work.

But I still would LOVE to have the garage for cars))) especially in winter! the feel of a warm car is priceless.

79 here right now. I do not have a need for a warm car. No snow here in 27 years.

Sunshine and warm year around other then a month or so it does drop down into the 30-40's at night sometimes.

My house is my home and I wont clutter it with yard sale items. I do not bring any cloth, furniture, used appliances etc to the house. They all go to the storage shed to be cleaned, pictured and listed.

Too many nasty people out there and I do not want their nasty habits brought into my home.
