Marking will be IG ( G will be over the I )

You are so very lucky. Every time I go to Good Will I try to find decent glassware like that. The best I ever did was find an Avon plate :-/ I've almost given up on glassware.

Let's see. I went to the thrift store and found an old RISK Game. It's not worth much and it's missing pieces. I'll have to return it. It's been a horrible month for finding things.

Those would be more my specialty. I would be all over those! :)

The "Dust Covers" alone are worth in-excess of $50 each.

Lalique is awesome.

Be careful of the mark.

Was 'copy' stuff around very hard to detect.

wow!! great finds Sandy

not much luck with me at the swapmeet yesterday. Some people already know me so they mark up the price a little bit. I only went to scout around but did not see anything good so I did not buy anything. Maybe more luck on the weekends.

Yes, I've noticed that as well when it comes to dealing with people you start to "know". Instead of giving me better deals they started giving me worse deals.

I don't know why that is. They probably assume you are making money off them and that makes them jealous.

Irule22 03-07-2012 08:24 PM

Do you have a pic? And it's Michael JordAn. Like I said, a full box goes for $10,000+

Does it look like this?

Yes the box looks like this.

Packs show the red white and blue with a basketball.

Only 24 packs in the box.

Where do you get 10k? I see packs selling for 110.00 range.

Terapeaked the 1985 Daytona Biker Week shirt I paid 4.99 for and it sells for 25. range.

UNSEARCHED boxes go for $10,000+. There are supposed to be 36 packs to a box. Here is a recent listing on Ebay where the buyer had all 36 packs graded, which adds about $400 to the overall cost, but well worth it. http://cgi.ebay.com/1986-Fleer-Baske...item2c5a24763a

It ended up selling off ebay to a private collector for $11,000. The packs are VERY easy to search, so if you think it hasn't been searched, it is WELL worth it to send them off to get graded, as they can determine if they have been tampered with, easy money.

Irule22 03-12-2012 09:52 PM

Also, to contribute to this thread also, I picked up a John Wayne bourbon decanter at the swap meet this weekend for $3. Used (obviously), they go for between $15-$25.

This one isn't getting sold though, it's going to my dad for Christmas to replace the one my sister drank as a teenager and thought by throwing the empty decanter out, she'd get away with it. Gonna be a good one! :P

biggunn 03-12-2012 10:14 PM

I bought a box of pokemon cards at the Goodwill 50% off Saturday sale. I don't know jack squat about cards like that, but I've heard they can be worth a lot... I paid $25 for about 1000 cards. I started going through them and looking up various cards on ebay... I already found 2 "1st Edition" cards that are worth $100+ with tons of bidding. They could be worth significantly more if I get them graded. :) All the cards are in great shape.

yotano211 03-12-2012 11:31 PM

Well, first time I went to the thrift store in 2 years. My findings....

3 Canada goose winter jackets--$25 each
2 New levi pants with the tags still on--$6 each
5 jansport backbags--$1.50 each
1 blu ray player for $5--might go for 20-30 range
10 medium house fans at $2 each. I will save until the summer time then sell them.

Had no luck at the swap meet on Sunday. They jacked up the prices. I need to go on Fridays when the good stuff is brought out first.

Irule22 03-13-2012 12:04 AM

Biggun, what Pokemon cards? Wow. I thought I was "getting over" on those people back in the day when I sold PSA 10 Charizard (unlimited edition) for $200 each. I saw a 1st edition go for almost $1900 a few months ago. Having said that....knowing quite a bit about grading, if it didn't come directly out of the pack into a PSA holder to be sent off to be graded, it is highly unlikely you'll get a gem mint grade. Sell as is!!

2 notable cards.. Found a a 1st edition Charizard in great shape, not mint though. And I also found one of those rare Mewtwo cards..

Irule22 03-13-2012 07:49 PM

Cool! Went to the swap meet today and all I got was a sunburn. :faint:

Sandy D 03-13-2012 10:11 PM

Cool finds guys.

I hit one thrift store today as I was in a hurry and got a Xbox 360 HD DVD player for 10 bucks, 2 wireless Wii remotes for 4.99, box of Atari 7800 games for 9.99 and a really nice like new motocross helmet. New in box Panasonic digital photo frame for 2.99.

Going to see someone on the Fleer cards. thinking of opening them to see if the Jordon card is in one of them. It would drive me nuts to sell them without knowing what is inside.

Something I am going to research before I do anything with them.

Thanks TGMT. I got them and will hold them for a while.

Appreciate the response!

A few scratches here and there but I dont think it will hurt anything.

Also grabbed a few 1970s hand held radios that were like new.

Hand held CB radio that someone wrote KDU-9936 on it. Must be the caller number or something? Some research tells me it is from the mid 1970's.

Sandy D 03-14-2012 07:40 PM

Forgot to mention a very rare KISS item I found for 0.79 cents.

Most KISS items like this sell for 250+.

So look for those 70's items folks, many bring crazy money.

rsot 03-15-2012 11:19 AM

I am going to leave them alone and let the buyers BELIEVE it may contain the rare Jordon card.

Might just start them a 0.99 and let them run for 7-10 days.

Card shop guy here told me I should sell them one pack at a time and if it hits the number you want do a second change offer.

He has never steered me wrong before on things I have taken into him.

He was the one that told me about the 1960s rare bobblehead I found at a yard sale and could not find it researching it.

Card shop guy here...as in where you live?

Maybe with what this box of cards is worth you should just let it hang out with a buy it now/best offer for awhile. Maybe a craigslist add.. Just a suggestion. :)

Yes, we have several sports card/memoriabilia shops around us. One huge one that deals in everything sports related.

Jerseys, cards, collectibles, autograph balls, game worn jerseys, stadium seats, all the collectibles from the past and present.

Irule22 03-16-2012 04:41 PM

Sandy-You should get the packs graded, you'll get A LOT more per pack.

RSOT-Yeah, they have dropped big time, but a lot of the originals and first hard to find cards go for MORE now, than they did now. Point in fact:

Thank you.

I worry about sending them out to get graded. Wondering if they will open and reseal the packs?

It scares me to death to even think of shipping it out to someone and trust them to grade them and not tamper with them or getting lost in shipping.

Today I think I was in yard sale heaven.

Several community yard sales going on and for the first time in a long time I was shaking because there was so much stuff I wanted to grab and go to the next one.

Amazing finds today, I could not pay for it fast enough so I could move on.

DH was running the van for me and had the door opened so I could toss the items in and go to the next one.

Like a kid in a candy store and someone dropped all the 1.00 bars down for 0.01 on me.

It was yard sale heaven day for sure.

Sandy D 03-18-2012 05:03 PM

Going through my finds from yesterday.

Had to mention this one.

A KISS 1977 belt buckle, new in package. Paid 0.25.

Looking for get 50.00 to 75.00 range or so for it on ebay.

biggunn 03-20-2012 04:09 PM

I found a vintage 1940's clock the other day at a thrift store. Paid $10. It goes for $60-$100 on ebay.

Good job.

I found one of the Kat Klocks a while back, my Grandmother had one in her kitchen.

Anything with the 1970s green and yellow brings good money also.

And dont forget people collect this flip number clock radios as well from the 1970s.
