2) Tektronix oscilloscope w/manual, $5. - expect $50.

3) Antelope Head (taxidermy) $5. - already sold for $140.

4) Huge RC Boat for parts, $15. - already sold for $100.

5) Huge Indian Kachina Doll, $30. - already sold for $200.

6) Large tool box of reloading equipment $15. - already sold for $250.

7) Bowflex, $40. - already sold for $150.

8) Mobility power chair, $200. - already sold for $600.

9) English saddle, $40. - expect $300.

10) A Very High End Electronics tester, $7. :D - expect a minimum of $1500. but will be closer to $2000.

I do not post everything but give an small posting so others can look for items that can make you some money.

Its my way to give back from all I have learned. Being a non techie person the stuff the fellow subscribers have taught me is just amazing.

It is out there, I never go a single day without finding something. Drop the kids off at school and hit the thrift stores, antique mall, flea market etc almost every day.

This week my findings on Craigslist are a box full on last generation graphics card this guy had from his out of business sale. From my estimates, he was only selling them for 1/3 of the price they would go for. The guy even let me test them on many of his desktops but I had to install them all myself.

19 graphics cards--selling price $40-$200 each--paid 300 for entire lot

My unique find for the day on Craiglist, a pair of NVIDIA GTX 590 desktop graphics card. The mom was listing it for her son who was off at college. She had listed the pair as GTX 570, but when I looked closer at the pictures, I knew they where 590's. I feel bad for not saying anything, but I still bought them and left in a hurry.

Paid 400 for a pair of NVIDIA GTX 590--sell for 600-700 each

I wish I had a desktop to try these babies out. I could have my own folding@home folding farm.

Wrongly appraised items can be some of the best finds!

You can thank my Grandpa who made me stay at his and Grannys house every Friday night and made me get up a 6 am to head out to yard sales and or flea markets and drilled everything he saw or touched into my head.

He gets all the credit, I just went along for the chili dogs and ice cream!!

Walking book of antiques and collectibles and I have yet to know after all of these years a single person who had so much knowledge of all things antique or collectible. Or anything to turn a buck on for that matter.

It is driving me nuts to hear people whine about not being able to find work.
There is money laying around everywhere to be had.

I very seldom ever make less then 100-150 in a few hours of running the stores in a day when I can get out. Then add Saturdays yard sales, auctions or flea markets in and anyone can make far more then 10 per hour wages easily.

Those electronic skilled people can make a small fortune. Not being a techy minded person at all I do ok but wish I had some of you guys skills in this area.


After dropping my kids off at school this morning I was able to get to 4 goodwills and 2 salvation army stores and found a boat load of items.

In fact, the van was full top to bottom front to back as I even bought a couple small pieces of vintage furniture including a vintage rocking chair which will sell on CL real quick.

But what I did find I posted on ebay around 9 pm and within 10 minutes I got an offer from a buyer to close the action and he would pay me with pp right away.

I paid 9.99 plus tax for this item and start it at 9.99 for 7 days. Thinking it would hit 125-150 range. He offered 300.00 with free shipping.

I took it. 290.00 profit on one small item less shipping and insurance.

It is out there folks, you just have to be at the right place at the right time and be looking.

I found a NFL football leather jacket today for 9.99, terapeaked it and they are selling in the 125 to 150 range. Appears to be from the late 1970s and 80's.

Now a tip for my fellow subscribers---

A while back I bought 9 Fire King Jadeite glass C handle cups. These were made in the 1950s by Anchor Hocking in Ohio. The D handle cups do not bring the money but the C handle cups are the ones you want to look for in the jadeite green color. If you are not aware of Fire King or Fire King Jadeite Glass look it up and learn as much as you can. Fire King sells like hot cakes to people in China and Japan for some reason.

Now, these cups were in a row with all the other gazillion coffee cups at Goodwill. I paid 0.79 for them and sold them starting one at a time for 9.99.
Most ended from 45.00 to 85.00.

Profit around 450.00 from a 7.00 investments.

The average person isn't smart enough and doesn't have the drive to make money on their own.. Otherwise everyone would be doing it. :)

I never had drive to make money myself but with my back ground in investment banking and a BA in Economics, I always lived around money and making it. The ebay thing was always in my mind. I just had to change my mind set to learn new things. So far so good, I am learning to find deals at swat meets and slowly going to thrift shops to find things. I'm sure I passed up many deals at thrift shops but I'm learning.

Just today I sold the 2 NVIDIA GTX 590 for $650 each, paid 400 for both and made 1295 on Craigslist, minus $5 for gas cuz the dude lived on the other side of town.

Fantastic! That is some awesome money.

I also have passed on many things over the years. Electronics especially and metals.

I used to go to a huge auction house where they would sell of huge corporate lots of computers. You could buy an entire row of towers for 100.00. A huge row of metal filing cabinets for 50.00 because no one wanted to do the work. Now I realize those were metal and I could have scrapped them for tons of money.

We live and we learn and I am learning something new all the time. Only this time around I am looking at everything and not passing things I do not know about anymore.

Might have to head out to the flea market tomorrow. It's a big one. :) Only going to be a high of about 75 degrees tomorrow. :bounce: (90 degrees today)

I have went to flea markets at 20 degrees and 110 degrees.

If a good flea market is out there I am there no matter the temps.

Cannot pass up a good thing.

I findings for yesterday. It must have been from a biker family. I went to a thrift store in the upper income area of the city.

I found some t shirts from Harley Davidson for $3 each. they might sell for 15 each
10 old belt buckles from early or late 80s, payed 5 each--might sell for 20-40
2 Hell's Angel biker jackets--payed 20 each, have no idea what they sell for
1 Armani suit-payed 125--I am putting this on Craigslist, I will ask for double

My first time buying any clothes to sell for profit. I looked through my phone on ebay to guess a selling price.

I actually had fun picking through things. I could of bought tons of silver ware for feedback but ran out of money. I wasn't expecting of buying anything so didn't bring much cash with me.

Ok, here is my contribution to the thread.. Keep your eyes open for old school blank audio cassette tapes. Sealed in the plastic. They sell great and for a good price. I think rappers brought them back or something..

Let me add to that.

Preferably the 90 min. High Bias Cassette Tapes, you need to get them new, sealed and in bulk. And if not in bulk, hold them until you get at least enough for a lot of 10. And never pay more than 50¢ each for them.

Do you really want to know what a real treasure find is? Reel-to-Reel tapes! I bought a case of them last year for under $10. and made nearly $1500. in profit. I literally had customers begging me to list more. :)

Next week I will be starting a tips-and-tricks thread on how and what to buy at Garage/Yard/Estate sales and how to make a decent amount of money doing so.

Most items are donated for a reason.

Goodwill helps disabled people by giving them jobs and training while Salvation Army gives people a place to live for a period of time who need it, feed them and do tons of charity things etc for those in need.

So its a cool thing.

Full of all kinds and types of items.

Like BG said, its a gold mine of money for those who have time to go through everything in a large store.

I am lucky to have no less then 25 or so around me in a circle any direction I go.
