Default Ebay spring seller update

So I received an update email with their new TOS.
In the selling rules, apparently they are now going to count
Auction listings with BUY IT NOW as duplicates, just like the fixed price listings?

I think this would suck. MIght as well just do Fixed price, but having only 1 item per given week I think will make your auction less likely to be visible.

WHat do you think

Foe example, we usually are able to list say 10 items of the same kind per week.
with BIN. And 1 fixed price auction.

BUt now that's not possible anymore.

So how would you guys remedy this.

are you talking about accounts where you are registered as a business seller?

i think this will only apply to a normal ebay account

dont think it will affect business sellers

maybe list in slightly different category

I don't think tweaking the title would help, since if you put the item catalog on the description, it'll still be the same item.

I list auctions at the same start price as my fixed price listings - hideously expensive but the only way round it as far as I can see

I use every listing to drive traffic to my other auction listings and to my fixed price listings. I start on a 3 day listing then increase it to 5 days then 7 days - keep it's near the top of the listings

GrannyT, so no BIN just normal auctions huh?

From what I've seen, people tend to only buy at the last day, if there's no BIN.

I wont give you the actual wording because you never know who is reading here but I'll paraphrase it thus "if you don't like waiting for the auction to end why not take a look at some of my other listings/my shop where I have similar products available right now"
