I always print shipping [and invoice] day of or day after payment. If its a Friday night, fine, still do it. And I almost never get "why was this shipped Monday when I paid Friday!!"

People will actually look at label to see date and prices. Lots

I don't see what gender has to do with it. I have had both male and female buyers who turned out to be nuts.

eBay is definitely NOT HELPING the situation. They keep raising buyer's expectations. First, by pushing "free shipping" then by coming up with their new "Fast N Free" time estimates.

The problems are:

Shipping is NOT free! Somebody has to pay for it. I just build it into the cost because that is what eBay has trained buyers to want.

The FAST thing is more problematic. I have been looking at these time estimates, and they are promising 1-2 day delivery in some cases. When it takes longer, the buyers will be angry - but with the SELLERS, not with eBay.

Ot, maybe eBay has decided than on $20 items, we now have to offer free, OVERNIGHT shipping???

Unfortunately for me all my buyers are Females but overall I get one crazy per Year. Maybe it's the price to pay for selling on Ebay.

I actually offer free priority shipping just because it allows me to get my cash faster with the 21 day holds placed. As of lately I've been getting funds released within 2 days of item arriving. I see it this way, the faster I get my money the faster I can re-invest and turn a faster profit. I am currently taking an Accounting class and it really helps with doing business.

Gender has nothing to do with it, just the fact people are just damn right stupid! Do they not understand their own postal system..?

The ignorance of some is unbelievable

Its the 24/7 world we live in now. Some people cant grasp that not everything is always running. [Super dumb] Holiday weekends are the worst. I cant count how many times I have had to explain that Friday night to Tuesday morning on a long weekend is not 5 days...

Its not even 1

and then the ones who dont understand why the post office didnt pick up their item when they paid for it at 9pm. and dont even get me started on different time zones. just because you live in CA, does not mean everyone does!

However did you know it was a woman ? :noidea:

In any case she sounds like a bright one. I once sold a toy animal that moves and talks to a lady. She emailed me saying that the item didn't work and did it ever work and oh my god this was for Christmas and she can't believe it doesn't work. *run on sentence to emphasize craziness*

I told her she needed to flip the "ON" switch.

Then she replied with a comment I never could have predicted.

She messaged me back telling me that she can't believe I didn't include instructions in the box to tell her how to do that.

I was baffled.

Ebays fault. They give the buyer an estimate delivery and the buyer expects it to be there before the actual time.
I had aq buyer demand an item ship the same day as they needed it for the weekend. I told them no way would it get to you before the weekend as priority mail is not guaranteed two day delivery. I told them I could charge the diff for next day and they said if I wanted to pay for it to keep a sale. Get this. 9.99 item.
Did not hear from them. Shipped the item and Wednesday of the next week they said it did not arrive in time and demanded pp funds to return. To keep them happy I did.
Two weeks later no item. The answer from the buyer ..... give me time I have other things to do in a day.
Unreal.

It was a joke :-) Look at the bold text in my post ;)

ebay has to do it to compete with Amazon. They are super efficient with the shipping process. I have to literally wait until 1hr before post offices closes to send last packages. Sometimes within last 30 minutes. Now I find myself having morning pick-up and 1 or 2 drop offs per day.

Oh not to mention it costs more every year... Its just getting nuts.

jamblix 03-10-2012 09:08 PM

At least it's a neutral and not the red one. Hell I get random neutrals even when I don't do anything wrong at all they just leave them for some reason..
