Why coild chrome be the problem? | Not stable enough for our stealth purposes.
TBF I have never used any upgrade of Firefox after 3.1.
Then I wear a tin foil hat :> |
| NoneOther | 04-04-2012 06:05 AM | No, Firefox is good.
If you think browser fingerprinting is an issue (personally I don't think it is right now with e/b and p/p) there are lots of others that can be used, you can have a different browser on every account if you like but not Chrome. |
| Hercules | 04-04-2012 06:06 AM | Do you clean your photos? |
| NoneOther | 04-04-2012 06:07 AM | Doesn't everyone? |
| GrannyT | 04-04-2012 06:11 AM | Of course
I'm thinking of going back to seperate machines for seperate accounts because of browser fingerprinting - but then I am paranoid |
| NoneOther | 04-04-2012 06:14 AM | GT thats not a totally bad idea.
I actually use a number of machines with 2/3 separate user accounts and varied internet connection methods. |
Interesting point about Chrome. |

Run the creme de la creme on a MAC.
Never pollute that baby:ranger: |
| GrannyT | 04-04-2012 06:25 AM | I used to do it but ShadyOne convinced me to go the user account route - time to dig out the old machines me thinks |
| NoneOther | 04-04-2012 06:26 AM | Once you go Mac you'll never go back.
Dumped PCs and Microsoft cr*p a long long time ago. :smash:
P.S. If you really have to run Windows then a Mac can do it for you using Boot Camp or something like Parallels. |
You can create multiple user accounts on a Mac? |
| NoneOther | 04-04-2012 06:37 AM | Yes, and Mac OSX is way more secure that Windows in that respect i.e. no 'leakage' between accounts
A BIG tip for anyone buying a new laptop/netbook........ DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BUY A CHROMEBOOK FOR USE WITH STEALTH ACCOUNTS |

| NoneOther | 04-04-2012 07:52 AM | PS can remove exif and metadata from pictures |
| sokol3k | 04-04-2012 09:06 AM | yeah dont use Chrome with it. I only use safari and firefox or opera for ebay stealth, also I do recommend Apple products with it. I run on MAC and I have not big issues. MAC are much safer then Win |
| hackteck | 04-04-2012 09:11 AM | yea but if he was using different user accounts for each ebay account then how could he be linked from cookies regardless of the browser? |
true point hackteck.
Was wondering that too - why would cookies go across accounts?
I use different user accounts across the Win XP platform but I am intrigued by the chance of buying a MAC Laptop... |
| NoneOther | 04-04-2012 10:05 AM | Because Chrome is invasive and searches other data on the hard drive.
Just because you have separate user accounts does not make the data for individual accounts 'invisible'.
In addition Windows user account are not the most secure environment, that is where Mac OSX or Linux are superior, user accounts stay private. |

No Need to do that Young lady,,,User accounts are fine,,,Just make sure that some of your settings like screen Resolution, Desktop, Font size or Font type is different,,,Different browsers is good also,,different add ons,,like toolbars (AVG, Google, Yahoo, ect ect),Adobe Flash, Reader, Different Antivirus,,go to the website I Linked below,,,there you can learn all about Browser Fingerprinting,,and even get your system ,,"Fingerprinted" so you can see Just how unique your fingerptint is,,
Notice all the different aspects of your settings that the site looks at in order to create a "Fingerprint",,,Ebay/Paypal/Amazon check even MORE aspects to get an even MORE ACCURATE Fingerprint,,,Now understand that this site does this for FREE,,so anyone who thinks that Paypal/Ebay/Amazon does not use this Tactic is CRAZY,,,I Know for a FACT they do,,,This is the Company that developed the fingerprint Software that PAYPAL uses: Palantir Technologies
Do NOT Take fingerprinting lightly,,,It is REAL and it is now WIDESPREAD,,,you can get around it,,,,ONLY if you Know it is there,,, https://panopticlick.eff.org/ |
Thanks NoneOther - I was thinking that WinXP user account was quite secure from sharing across user accounts. I guess I have to rethink this. |
