2 accounts limited on one day - why?

Had 2 emails from PayPal today limiting 2 of my accounts. Both stealth. One personal, one business.
I have previously supplied documents on the business accont which were accepted some months ago & now have just got to Power Seler status.
Both accounts use seperate names & addresses with addresses some 8 miles apart but both with the same 1st two letters of the post code
The business account has sales of around £1200 per month (15 sales per day) & the personal account only about 6-7 sales per month totally unreated products to the business account.
Because I have one of these stupid Virgin Super Hubs where you can't change the IP (unless you switch it off for 2 days) I have been using the same mobile dongle (vodaphone prepay) on these accounts. This gives a new IP with each connection. But not every connection is unique. ie xxx xxx xxx 456 & yyy yyy yyy 890 can be repeated several times in the course of a month or so. There seem to be two lots of the first 9 digits attached to this dongle with the last 3 changing each time.
I religiously check that an IP used on one account has never been used on the other account.
The emails say go to PayPal & click on the link to resolve these issues. When I log on to PayPal the limited message says this limitation can not be appealed against, but still says click on the resolve link to see what has to be done to lift it. No details of what is required is shown.
Now I realise these accounts are probably screwed. I am assuming that the problem could be to do with them linking the IPs from the dongle in some way, so am telling the tale as other may be in the same situation.
Now need to make more accounts and hope that I dont get the new send a letter to confirm your address

Unlikely to be IP if all other info was different on both accounts.

It may be more to do with what you were selling and how you were selling it.

What about DSR's and buyer protection cases, no mention made of these?

With regard to repeated IPs if you keep accurate logs then all you need to do if you get one that has been used on another account is turn it of and on again until you get one that hasn't or matches one that you have used with that a account before.

It aint rocket science really.

No clash with the products. Personal accounts selling just the girls used items. Low value & low volume.
Business account has no DSR & buyer protection case problems. The goods are all legit, and Feedback 99.8%
Kept excellent track of IPs.
Name address, phone, email, bank, card all different
Really at a loss on this one

So what did the email from p/p actually say then, paste them on here.

Both pp verified with bank account?

I had this happen to a pp recently - very random too, no reason except that limitation cannot be appealed either. Working on this too - was only taking in low amounts sub 5 bux.

Did you creat these 2, (and Possibly Other Suspended) accounts with the same Computer, the the same Desktop settings like "screen resolution" same web browser with the same Plugins, or "add ons"?

NoneOther 04-03-2012 02:58 PM

If what he says about all info being different then I would guess it's got to be cookies, LSO's or etag related.

IP alone is not enough for limitation otherwise half the world's users would get limited purely because of dynamic IP assignment

rsot 04-03-2012 02:59 PM

Could your products be consider high risk? In spite of account verification I mean.

Just the standard:
We recently noticed an issue with your account.

What's the problem?

For reasons relating to the safe use of the PayPal service we need some
more information about you and your account to help confirm your identity.

Reference Number: PP-001-7xx-xxx-xxx

To see what you can and can't do while your account is limited, please go
to the Resolution Centre.

You'll be able to withdraw money from your account within 180 days. We'll
email you when it's available. We just want to make sure that you have
money in your account to cover any payment reversals.

Yours sincerely,
PayPal

I have questions with router swaps : my new ebay stealth ruter with my stealth IP is only opening one browser and one user name. ONLY

what if I will forgot to change ruter and will log in to my different acc ? all cookies will be saved in my browser and they will blend or what ? and when I change to my second ruter... all cookies will be saved there and when I open ebay then those cookies will find themself and ebay will see that cookies ...from different IP have been transfered to different IP .. is this is how it works? sorry for confusing>

I know its slightly off topic but I assume you could have this problem too or somehow be afected by cookies this way

NoneOther 04-03-2012 05:45 PM

It's a ROUTER

Cookies are not stored on the router, they are files contained in your browser profile and are used to identify you when logging into sites.

These cookies in conjunction with the logged IP address can cause you to be linked to other accounts.

bingo!

Chrome might be part of the problem.

What version of Firefox are you using? :spy:

kathemmi 04-04-2012 05:23 AM

Firefox 10.0.2
Why coild chrome be the problem?

NoneOther 04-04-2012 05:30 AM

Because it is very insecure, it does not segregate cookies in the way that other browsers do.

Google are all about finding out as much about you and what you do as they can, there is next to no privacy with them.

Worst browser ever imho

There are at least a dozen alternative browsers that can be used instead of the the main four i.e. Explorer, Safari, Chrome and Firefox, try a few.
